80 k5 - frame off 6.0 LS swap

Man that thing is looking good.
I remember when mine was just a shale. :D
I do think having the motor and trans in when you put the body back on withtout the interior in it is a better order of building it then the backass order of things I did.:doah:

thanks man.
yea, i am glad it back together in the order i did. now that the body is back, everything is harder to reach ... runnin fuel lines in particular. plus, i am now scared as **** of scratching the new paint!

If you are running metal lines it can be very hard to get some of them back in place with the body on. Braided lines are no big deal.
1"body lift did make it easier.

anybody else ever have "professional" glass installers cut/separate the rubber for the locking trim from the main windshield gasket while trying to install the locking trim?

oh man this is awesome, almost exactly what I'm fixing do do but I've got a donor 02 3/4 tone with LQ4.

Your doing a great job  . My biggest problem is patience I want to drive it now.

75K5 LS Swap

I am in the final stages of my own LQ4 swap into my 75 2WD K5. Stuffed a Brian Tooley Racing cam kit in it, Schoenfeld long tube ceramic headers, 3:73 posi, and now trying to get a good tune done. Having some growing pains during the tune we are working through. I had a coworker talk me into hiring out another coworker to do the swap, so I can't take much credit for the mods. I will post a couple pics once I figure out how to do it with a url link.

Yet another amazing full resto in a single car garage and here I am thinking my 24x32 separate shop wont be enough! Props :thumb:

let me just say... i HATE working in a single car garage.... i will never buy another one.

quite a few updates.

brand new glass + new rubber + chrome lock strip.

all stainless steel braided fuel line, front to rear, stainless steel bolts, stainless mounting clamps, with fire proof covering where it has to run over the exhaust.

radiator core support sand blasted, and painted, and mocked up for radiator mounting and ECM mounting.

thinking of putting my ECM right here? I don't have my fender to mock up, is that going to be too close to the fender?

and i sold my CBR1000 and bought a '13 Harley Street Glide.

Looks nice.
I but it is very hard to work in a single car garage.

80 k5 - ls swap - frame off - restomod

Daaaannng! Here I am feeling good about my build and you're doing more than I am in less space. My garage is 19x19 and the door opens to 6' 10", Daisy will never go inside so I've done everything outside in the driveway. On that ECM mount, being that close to the fender you might have to watch out for the hood springs when you lower the hood. Mine miss all my wiring by less than an inch. I'll take some measurements for you today.

Can't say he did when mine was installed, but I can assure you that chrome strip will turn brown pretty quick and mine sits inside,
Aftermarkets don't hold up like gm originals.

The garage is never big enough, separate 20x24 here. Half for the blazer and half for every thing else, have to move crap around all the time to do things. I did put 8 ft doors on both garages when I built the house so I can get in either one with the blazer.

Nice work on your K5, looks great.

Damn, I didn't think about the hood springs! Thanks a lot!
