Very nice you starting to " get it" from what I can see.
Haha yep thanks. Once I get out there and start seeing everything and visualizing things it makes it a lot easier for me to "get it" #ridinaroundandgettinitVery nice you starting to " get it" from what I can see.
So bit of advice.
Spread the load. By putting those tubes where they are you created a possible shear point.
Those tubes are not acting on each other. They are putting all their force into the horizontal tube.
Yeah I tried to do that but that shock hoop and the frame are off set from each other. Would it have been better if I mounted that tube not parallel to the frame and off set to make that node match? What Eric is saying is that bar that has the shock mount on it needs to be connected to the bar you just put in(Tube node). Also it appears that bar at the bottom is welded(seam) could be a bad pic but that tube should be solid . By putting those tubes offset you are creating a shear point( forces acting in opposite directions ). That should be connected in one node and continue all the way to the C pillar.

Haha yes!I see your brain works like mine.
New ideas while typing.
If you cant move it, just cut some small tubes, notch them at 45*, and triangle gusset that piece jessed pointed out.
That is the frame tie-in tube to the cage. Should be a pic from the cab and underneath that shows it.

Definitely could have...just seemed like this would be stronger...and it's not like the floor doesn't have any holes in it already....I see now, just seems like you could have put a small bend in that piece, and only had to cut a hole on the top step of the floor, instead of chopping it all out.
Why did you chop the floor up like that? Where is that tube going underneath?
Ahh there we go. Yeah that's doable for sure. That gonna be strong enough?
What's the benefit of grinding your welds? I know that if I were to one day race this thing, the cage cannot have any welds that have been ground down...and therefore I haven't been.here Adam..

I would definitely finish smoothing out that lower weld, and put a good, fresh hot bead around it.. maybe 3.... the back 1/2 of your rig is relying mucho on it... consider an upper frame gusset...

Or atleast box the frame from the rear link mounts to the front link mounts.
