BII Resurrection for Destruction

Subscribed. What sort of lift you putting on it?
Well that depends, we either rip the 6" or whatever is on that other ranger with the d44 and ford 9" in the rear, or my buddy had a 5" lift and blocks for a bronco II, basically just drop brackets for the twin I beam front and Idk if it was springs or blocks for the rear, but he gave that to a buddy who still hasnt used it so we may be able to get it back.

So long story short, get the free one if we can, or do the SAS with the d44 and rear blocks on the ford 9".

Subscribed man! Ready to see some carnage :woot:
Thanks man!

Pencil me in for a fab session next summer

So you like the bumper?? Ill build you one, ill take a case of the good stuff:thumb:, no not bud light:haha:

Years ago I knew a guy with a brown BII with 4" of lift, Bushwacker cut outs, and 33" Swampers. It was a mean looking little SOB.

Watch out for the lifts that use the brackets that drop the axle beam pivot points but reuse the factory pivot mounts. Some of them have been known to make it possible to hit the diff on the factory mount due to the newly available up travel.

Hahha i was gonna say, you guys drink crappy beer lol. And I will try and make it out next summer, hopefully after I graduate. Thinking of doing a mini tour lol

Ive always liked them, not gonna lie, 4low on this SOB feels like it could rock crawl, its very low.... And yah I would much rather have the solid axles under their, but since we are trying to do everything for "free" its gonna depend on if we can get that other lift from that kid, otherwise Ill have to talk to Craig (my bud whos house/lift/parts trucks we are using) if he wants to do the SAS. Or if we can find a decent setup for cheap on CL maybe go that route, but that ranger looks KICK A$$ with that straight axle on 35s.

Budweiser = King of beers, it says so on da bottle!!! lol. That sounds fun man, We could build you a beef bumper and go for a trip to the dunes. Even if you didnt drive the k5 we could use my truck to mock one up and then you could take it back home witchya.

Here is one I am working on.

photobucket-3573-1319173548682.jpg

Cherokee front axle. 4" lift Cherokee springs. 3 link. Rear axle will be an 8.8
4.0 out of an exploder, along with the 5 speed and soon a doubler using the explorer t case and the original BII t-case. He is going to run 35s for now. It basically lifted it 3". We need to do the rear leaf packs and get the 8.8 in there.

Buddy who is building it probably has about 2k into the whole thing including buying the BII and the explorer he took the motor and trans out of. Will have probably 2500 in it after its all said and done and on tires

Eventual plan is to cut off the back tube it use ranger bedsides link the rear put 60s in it and 40s

Yah me and. Buddy bought it when i was lile 17 and didnt know jack crap about workin on anything. Spent about $2000 on it between buying it and throwing parts at it trying to make it run. Coulda been alot cooler by now if we would have known what to do. Oh well kinda starting over with a better view and trying to build it cheap as posibble and go have some fun with it.

Oh yes made some beef. Boxed in the frame horns with 1/4 angle and welded it together to make channel, then boxed the ends in and tied the tubes onto the angle. It is pure beef awesomeness.

We also got it running, found out mice chewed more fuel line than we found the first time. Went out to-trackin. 4lo this things a beast, climbed up some hills I never would have dreamed it could.

And the first carnage pic... Lol, broke off during some harsh bumps and the alternator ate it up pretty good lol

Now it needs a nice sandblast and paintjob and it should be done.

Next on the list are some rock/tree sliders tied into the frame. Alot of the trails last night were way close so some rock sliders sticking out just past the body should protect it pretty well.

Then we are taking the d44 off the ranger and the ford 9", and dropping them under, will prolly have to make up some new drive shafts. The truck will soon match the beefy bumper with beefy lots of stuff.

So so far since we brought it to my buddies, im in $30 for welding wire.... And thats about it!!!:thumb:

Make a skid going from the bottom of that tube to the frame so its doesnt stand out so bad. That would look good. Im sure it doesnt help that the frame is yellow lol.

Takin the whole thing off to blast and paint it so the yellow frame box won't show so bad. It's definitely beefy as heck. Once we put the d44 and ford 9" from the ranger on with the lift I will make a skid plate to keep mud and junk out of the engine bay as bad.

Im jealous you're beating me to the SAS. But then again those TTB fords are cheaters seeing as how they have brackets and arms that work on a solid axle...

I just realized something! You'r stubborn like me and flux core everything.

Yah it's a pretty easy swap. It will prolly take longer to get the twin I beams off than put the solid axle on lol. And yah I want the argon tank, but it's so freekin expensive!!! So fluxcore works fine for me, nothin a little grinding won't clean up :D

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha: @ the its pretty easy comment. Okay so its not too bad I guess.

The tank and how much cheaper wire if you do alot of welding you will pay for the tank in a couple years. I can buy 2 10 lbs spools of wire for about 40 bucks on ebay, 2 10 lbs spools of flux core would be upwards of 90 bucks.

Filling the tank costs a bit but not too much I can run more than 2 spools on my big tank and it only costs 35 bucks to fill. If I can get a couple buddies to go in with my and I meet a certain amount of gas sold at a local place it will go down to about 25 bucks as per their volume discount.

Flux is nice can you can weld anywhere but its not really cheaper to weld with

Why so funny? He put it on the ranger with no problems, cant imagine its much harder to put on the bII. We got a torch and a plasma to rip the twin I beams off:D

And yah I know the flux core costs more, but for a broke person its hard to come up with $200 to get an argon tank at one time when I need to weld now..... so $20 here, $20 their is a little easier to deal with rather than one big splurge of cash. Im in a spool and a half on that bumper. The 2lb spools i believe, so not too bad.

Its called penny smart dollar foolish lol. I do happen to like the fact that with a 115v welder the fluxcore gives you a little better penetration.

Btw you're a rat bastard. Im ****ing itching to go get a jawhorse when I get paid next week :pimp:

Dude the Jawhorses are awesome. Im pretty sure I got mine before anybody else really knew wtf they even were. They freekin rock though, so much faster than a regular vice and so versatile. JUST MAKE SURE TO ONLY CLAMP WITH IT IN THE LOCK POSITION!!! Otherwise you will strip the clamping teeth clean off if you press the foot lever down in the unlock position. They are very solid as well and the only downfall i have seen is the plastic locking nut for the rear leg, I may take it off and use a wing nut, otherwise awesome.
