budget beater - . . . HOLMES 220 single line boom wrecker install starting ..

good progress today with lots of :hack::grind::weld:

lets just say i LIKE :saweet: my new rear bumper .

pics tonight when i am done in the shop .

well the match maker ring is here . went and picked it up tonight . come out real good for what its going to be used for .

all is good now . just need 6 longer bolts and a new gasket and o-ring rubber seal .

and i figured why not a little more :sign11: for the side of the 203 range box . sorry ORD the plain steel cover had to go .

I like that better than my 241 mount with the 203 adapted to it.
nothing wrong with your way . i wish i could have done that as i have a th400/208 adapter already . but this range box has been threw the ringer with bolt patterns . so i just went back to stock and had the spacer made .

my other doubler is a 4l80-e/241 adapter to redrilled 203 box .

Looks like the gooseneck hitch didn't cover your frame splice like you wanted...

So are you going to have to fish plate that spot now? Or is it just a trick of the pic?

Amazingly cool build by the way

ya i am going to plate it . but looks like its going to be on the outside of the frame . wish i had known were the rear brackets ended . . . i would have had kirt make them a bit longer to let me sandwich it all in . thats o.k. tho it will get burnt in with a fish plate . and maybe it will overlap the bolts for the hitch and be welded and plated ? ? ? naaa prob just a diamond shape to work and clear the bolts.

and thanks on the comment .

update :

engine looks good . intake is bolted on and sealed up .

trans has been cleaned / shift improver kit installed and drain plug in pan .

but yesterday was the day from he!! . . . everything i did just was fighting me all day . then i get a pm from a member here i had asked a question on and got told i might have screwed up the check balls in the shift improver kit install . so i might be pulling it all again . . .

what a frigin weekend . . . :flipoff11:

started working on this again .going to start finishing it next week since i will be off work permanently . also that winter season is coming and i need a plow truck . and most important i need a vehicle to drive .

Just to let you know, on my '90 K5, I had to use a decent amount to hammer work to get the floor to move out of the way for the triple sticks. And I am going to rework the back end of the brace to get it down for a little bit of room. I am planning on putting the corner gusset in lower, so that I can cut the top off.
What are you seeing?

mine clears all except that tiny spot the shifter bolt hits . but that will be removed for the new triple stick setup anyway .

little rear bumper action today .

made my brackets to the frame with 2 - 5/8" holes & 2 - 1/2" holes each . this should hold here on there good-n-tight ! 1st pic i still have yet to do the 4th hole . the other 2 holes clear the factory cross member rivet's . and the brackets are just 3.5"x3.5"x1/4" wall angle . . .

then test hung the main section of the bumper to make sure depth was good and tailgate thats BENT clears when down . then i marked were to cut the bumper to let the brackets pass threw for final weld both sides .
