Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

that pinon angle is way up, though I don't really know what's right, but it's def higher than mine is.

ooooo carpet :)

I thought about carpet once.... hahaha

Hmm, idk seems to do fine in 4wd, not too worried about that at the moment lol. I want this stupid oil to stop stupid leaking out of these stupid valve covers I didnt want in the first place!!! lol.

Oh and yah, I wanted new carpet, the stuff in mines pretty shotty, it will be a winter project though while the trucks stored in the barn. Ill prolly rip lots of sheet metal off the floor patching holes here and there while im at it.

Have fun with that. Its a wonderful experience that every Blazer owner should have to go through. I've done it twice so far, and it gets better every time

Lol, well It will give me some sheet metal fab time and welding time, who wouldnt wanna do that???:thumb:

nah, that's not what I mean, the angle changes your caster on the knuckles, so that affects driving all the time. Just saying, but it's all just from a picture, not like I've got an angle finder app or something :D It would make the truck easy to steer, but too easy at speeds making it a little squirrely (sp?) :waytogo:

ditch the stamped valve covers. I had the same covers and they would always leak, never nearly as much as that though... Get a set of cast valve covers and never look back. Also get the high end rubber/steel core gaskets. Cork is only good as sealing wine.

He's running stock suspension, looks like nothings changed. I bet it's fine.

Oh, and uh, where's the burnout pics Adam...?

Well ummmm...lol Ive only been by myself while ive had it out, and yesterday was the first day I actually drove it more than 2 miles. I drove it to work this morning and back home, and im gonna let it sit till I find some new valve covers, these things suck. Its a drip every couple seconds while its running:eek1:. I just feel my wallet hurting every time that royal purple break in oil hits the cement in the driveway:doah: So ill break down and get some cast covers with some real gaskets and call it a day. (but not today... lol)

I got a few hits on CL today. One for the 305, and another guy about valve covers.

Guy in texas called me and said he has the tall set of the alluminum edelbrock covers like the ones I had that didnt fit. He just wants to do a straight up trade (i mail mine, he mails his). Guy seems pretty nice and if he is a dbag and screws me its not like im sending any money, and my buddy gave me these covers for free and I just cleaned em up. But if he sends me those and ill order the good felpro gaskets and put an end to this leak once and for all, and have those valve covers I wanted from the beginning:thumb:

I like the if hes a dbag comment, I all for getting a good deal but, you should be driving over thouse v/c with your truck if they leak that bad.

Not trying to be a dink but... if they are crap toss them out, and save your name.

Im trading him my alluminum short set that wouldnt fit for his identical tall set. The ones on my engine are the stamped chrome ones. They are leaking.

sounds like a decent deal, like you said even if he doesnt send his, you got yours free and your not out anything but shipping:dunno:

Thats what i was thinkin. Ill be much happier with these covers. Next to some really expensive bowtie alluminum ones these are my favorite

Went out to Silver Lake all weekend, bought a set of sand shark paddles for the warrior which made a world of difference. Had a blast for sure. Managed to snag a few pics.

Thanks man I had a blast. Well untill I effed up my shoulder loading the quad in the truck...:doah:

I must have just lifted it awkwardly, cuz monday morning I couldnt even get out of bed my shoulder was so tight, and it made all the muscles in my neck all jacked up too. Dr said I severly strained my Trapezious muscle:doah:

Been layin in bed with Ice and a heating pad for 2 days. Luckily my girlfriend is awesome and gave me a bunch of shouler massages. Plus the muscle relaxers and the Tramadol I got from the doc help the pain too.

The muscles are so tight that my neck is all crooked to on side lol. I look all jacked up. I still can hardly turn my head. gonna try to go to work in the morning. This Tramadol stuff is crazy, my whole body is numb lol.

Ive never been in this much pain before. I broke my wrist in high school and that was nothing compared to how much my shoulder is hurting. I could hardly get out of bed to hit the alarm monday morning. :doah:

ouch
you sure it was the act of loading? Might have just been the day of hardcore riding, plus an awkward load up. Dunno

yah i felt it when we loaded it into the ferd. But it was just a pinched nerve feeling all day sunday. Im sure the riding was what made it tight in the first place though. I am back to work though. Gonna be a rough day not takin my pain meds though lol. They make me too dizzy
