Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

I try jumping it to eliminate if its the starter or not then work from their. If it is the starter ill at least get a new free one with that nice new starter whirl everybody loves lol

If you can get free ministarters I'll take one too.

By the way, I'll be at silver lake this weekend, start that 408 up and bring it on over!

Well I bought the starter during the winter from AutoZone and its got the lifetime warranty or whatever so I get a free one if I bring the bad one back it (if it is bad)

And dang man I would like to hit up the dunes. its gonna be freekin hot!!!:eek1:

Oh, it's an autozone starter. Yeah, it's probably bad. Have fun changing that every year until you get sick of it and buy a better one.

Jut be careful because you don't want to chew up your flexplate from it being shimmed wrong one of these times either.

You going to make it to the dunes?

Idk man, I put one in the van 4 years ago, still works great, fires over fast. And after having to pull the starter on the BII everytime you want to work on anything in the front end for some odd reason... Ive gotten pretty darn good at removing starters lol.

I prolly wont make it up, my buddy sold his bike and hasnt found a new one yet and I dont like drivin up by myself in case something happens.. (which it will, cuz its me...:doah:)

But i did manage to get up their ill let you know, I would prolly just ride the warrior all day

Cool man, ill have to see what im up to. It all depends on if the trucks ready to go or not. I went down to do the other front wheel bearings, and as I feared I stripped all but 2 of those stupid hex head hub bolts. WHAT A STUPID IDEA!!!!!! I then tried using one of those impact thingamajigs you hit with a hammer and it turns it out with a slightly bigger torx bit i jammed in their, just stripped the sob more. Im just gonna drill the heads off and turn them with a pair of dogs. Anybody know where I can get just the bolts??

Just swing by the hardware store, they are just socket head cap screws, I bought some stainless ones from the hardware store for mine to replace the plated ones they came with.

Socket head?? They are like an allen head bolt. I thought it was like 9/64ths or something like that. And very fine threads....

thats what a socket head is. it has a socket to stick an allen wrench in it:waytogo:

Well aaaalrighty then lol. Ima get me some stainless ones then. What dbag wouldnt put some type of anitseize on the smallest fine threaded bolts you could find that are the first step in taking the hub apart:dunno:.

they have been known to come loose if old:dunno: But there are people out there that insist on threadlocking EVERYTHING:doah:

I put antiseize on everything!!!

Except starter bolts, and anything bolted to the block. Ive never had a bolt i put antizeize on that ever came loose on its own, just that much easier when I go to change it. I wont use threadlocker. Eff that stuff

Went back to the Fremont home town for some mud bogs tonight. Their were some pretty awesome rigs out their. The mud was like 4 ft deep thick nasty stuff. I only took vids of the decked out trucks that could make it through. These ones basically floated on top where the others all sunk up to the hood:eek1:. Its only 150 foot distance but they make up for it by making it super nasty. Basically if your engine wasnt 500+ci, you had no chance lol, well except the one jeep with a 406 small block... It gave me a little hope with my 408, but his was built for sure lol.

60's chevy with a 600 big block:eek1:

Ranger with a 630 ford:eek1:

Toyota with a big ol big block.

And this guy took the cake with a 572 big block, but my freeekin sd card got full right after I started:doah:. He popped the front tires off the ground 3 feet the hole distance and killed everybody with a 3 second time. WOW!!!
They said the first time he got the motor in it in his back yard and hit the throttle he flipped it over!!!!Which I can definately beleive seeing how he had the front tires off the ground so high in that soupy mud. :woot:

This truck was just perty

For referance of how deep the mud was at first here is my cousin with his 468 or something big block, sunk like a brick, and that wasnt even at the deep part at all. I beleive hes rollin on 40s

Edit: Heres a vid someone made, its got the S10 chevy with the winning time. Freekin nuts.

Haha I didnt even notice that lol.

Ok I figured out the sitiation on the no start. It was just a bad battery, which is odd because its only a year old... But it was a meijer brand battery that sat in the BroncoII for most of the year with a massive electric drain, so go figure. I brought the starter in to Autozone, it passed but the dude was pretty cool and said, ehh you went through the trouble to get it out, and its a little dirty, so here ya go brand new off road one with the enclosed gear lol. Sweet. Took the battery out of the van, made sure to clean all the wire end, fired right up:thumb:

Shes insured and ready to rock.... down to the exhaust shop this week hopefully. Once I get the exhaust tucked up above the xmember silver lake here i comes:woot:

Watch for a drain just in case something drained the old battery down and killed it. Might want to get the charging system tested.

Yah Ill keep looking. Its got a 6 month old alternator and all new grounds.

Got it home, ugh those stupid valve covers are leakin like a b****. And to top it off i tightened the valve cover bolts, and broke off the head of the front pass side :doah:. I know they arent supposed to be all that tight, but ive just been slowly trying to turn them here and their to see if I could stop the leak. well ill watch it tomorrow and if it starts pooring out oil i guess ill have to take the cover off and get it with a pair of channel locks. Ugh.

Time to Pic Whore, Ive had a bad day... lol.
