Deulings 1985 K5 Blazer, --aka Borderline Obnoxious; Silver Lake pics and Vids

Okay, just wondering as the ones in the link you put up pull up the REAR shocks you'd order for your truck. Part number 9105.

Oh yah I just meant you gotta scroll down after you click the Item Details icon and find the 9101. Thanks a ton bud:thumb: Placing order now:waytogo:

Good luck with them. Done me well several times now.

That and you'll actually have shocks trying to control the suspension. Probably find it "tosses and turns" a bit less while going down the road.

Glad to help.

Now ive got to look into the locking hubs lol.

You said warn premiums eh??
I was just gonna go with the Mile Marker Supremes, Ive heard good reviews on them. Not the Cheapy Mile Markers. The gold ones:thumb:

With new lockers, bearings, front shocks, new motor, and exhaust, this thing should do pretty good up at the dunes... Im hoping at least:laugh:

Edit: Nope im getting the mile marker supremes for sure, no way im droppin that much on the warn premiums. Thats not necessary for the little 4x4 driving I do.

I'll put it to you this way with hubs - Spicer/Dana originals aside...everyone compares all the other brands to Warn in terms of how good they supposedly are.

"Brand X is just as good as Warn!"
"My cousin had Brand Y and they were just as good as Warn."
etc.

Yet when push comes to shove...and in fact when OEM's have ordered them from makers other than Dana/Spicer...everyone goes Warn and considers them the best. In my GM/Ford/Dodge/Suzuki/Toyota travels the last decade or so I've ran across numerous reports of Milemarker, Superwinch, ProComp, etc all failing while it seems like Warn Premiums only blow up once hammered on and abused hard core on the trail or totally mistreated (filled with water, etc).

Look around here in the for sale forum, watch Amazon, Ebay, CL, etc. Someone will have a set up for sale. They're quality and good stuff...but when someone upgrades to 1 tons they're just extra stuff sitting around.

Got any traction adders in the diffs?

Lol i know im taking forever... But i was out all last week with a messed up shoulder which is feeling better now. And now work got crazy busy all of a sudden. And to top it off i stepped on my laptop last week so now i have to do all this from my phone lol. I will find some time for the truck this week though

Well im tryin to get the new valve covers on. They are massively tall so the ac compressor lines are coming out because they wont clear them.
Also got some motivation in the mail when I got home:thumb:

So the tall ones aren't on? The ones that you waited for for a while?

correct:doah:

Oh well lol. I didnt think they were that much taller lol. And I only spent 20 bucks on shipping for them so no biggie.

Ill sandblast and clear coat and see if I can resell them for a little more.

So I got the shocks on and found out just how bad the old ones were lol. First of all they were shot, you could push them in easy and they wouldnt pop back out lol. And they had about a 1/4" of downtravel:eek1:. I now have a good 3" or so of downtravel and the thing rides so much better. Some hillbilly musta put 3 or 4 inch lift shocks on it.

They might not be gas charged shocks, not all shocks pop back out. But no compression travel is not a good thing!

Yah it's crazy how much smoother it is now. I was scared of taking it to the dunes before lol. Can't wait till the rears come in the mail.

In other news I should be dding it soon. I'll go to the insurance place this week and hopefully get it into an exhaust shop,
