GsxrMike's build thread...Frostbite 2011 Pictures are in!

Even if I were to swap them around I don't think it would make a differance. I wish I could compare to the calipers I had but I traded them in for the core charge. I will go back tomorrow and see if they still have them. Anymore ideas guys? I don't see how these can possibly work?

They look like the right calipers to me.

Do you see how the retainer is getting driven under the caliper though? The calipers will not move with it like this. I don't remember my old calipers being so tapered like these. These are almost like pregound for 15" rims or something.

I know it sounds dumb, but I did this too...It's hard to tell from the pics because they are so close-up, but are maybe the calipers just upside down?

Are you sure they aren't suppose to point strait back? This is the only way the bleeder will be at the top. I'll go back down and look.

Here is a pic of the caliper. I don't see anyway to point the bleeder straigt up. If I mount it the way I had it the bleeder will be at the top but pointing straight back.

Here's a picture of my drivers side. Note how the caliper and bracket line up really closely. Your caliper seems to be sitting inboard too much. Is the caliper bracket on the right side, but flipped over? Are you sure you're checking the drivers/passengers side right? (pinion points to the back...)

I am about 99% sure that the brackets and calipers are all oriented correctly. I need to see my old calipers to figure out the problem. BLAAAA! This is starting to piss me off just a bit. I was planning on having this thing close to done tonight but it is one problem after another. To add salt to the wound, I found the seals that I bought from oreilly's and they were better seals than what I bought today. I found them when I ran out of grease and started looking for the "oreilly's bag" that I was sure had some grease in it. DOH!

Hmm, weird. I noticed that either your caliper is way bigger than it should be or the bracket is smaller, but take a look at the green and red marks I made on this picture. On my calipers, the bracket edge and the caliper are both the same width. You're caliper is way wider than the bracket.

Any chance dually calipers are different and you got those by mistake?

I think I figured it out. I think I had my spring thingy in the wrong place. Is this where it is suppose to go? :doah::doah::doah:

Wow I feel like such a douche...I'm going to bed! Thanks for the help brother!

What are the chances we can delete all these posts before anybody gets a look in the morning? :haha:

To late!:D I must have spent an hour trying to figure out how to install those peices, my first time.

I dicked around with mine for two days of temper tantrums too.

Everything is looking awesome!!

Well, I am worn out! I have spent all weekend working on my rig and the only thing left to do is install a new front drive shaft and finish filling the tcase. After that, a little seat time to make sure everything will hold up and I will be all set for frostbite. I am uber exited! I am going to call Jessie at HAD tomorrow and see if I can get a 1410 shaft made and shipped overnight or maybe 2nd day air. What a journy, I have be dreaming of this truck for about 12 years and now the day is almost here. Whew! Thanks guys for all of the help!

See... I knew you could get it done. I'm ready to see this thing in action. It's probably gonna be pretty wet/muddy. We've gotten a good bit of rain the past day or two. Will make things a lot harder, especially for me running the dang military wranglers... oh well. :D

Congrats on getting it "done." :D

Dang it just go a couple days not reading everything and find out you could save a guy a ton of frustration. I knew exactly what you did wrong cause I did the same thing!

Well just one more reason to read more and more of CK5
