"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

I'm pretty sure it's the Mojave, I got it from summit years ago. It has a switch that has two or three settings. Off - low - med - high

You found caps and hubs in the junk yard but left everything that goes between them there?

External hub D44...yeah. No use for that around here. It was in a mostly complete 67-72 K20. I didn't look to close at anything else. The yard is about 3 hours from my house. I just worked in a quick stop while we were travelling to my kids baseball game.

So I was looking over things today since I didn't have time to get any actual progress done. Since I drilled my perches back 1.25" there is a gap in front of my shims.

1. Should I redrill the shims to move them all the way up on to the perches?
2. Add a piece of steel to the front of them?
3. Leave it be it'll be fine?

Ok I have been slacking on keeping this updated. Lots of work has happened, some rework. I will try and summarize to keep myself on track and then update over the next couple days. I am sure they will be out of order, but I'm trying to get this thread caught up.

Got the shims redrilled to sit square with the axle moved forward.
Moved the B52 mounts fwd to improve shackle angle (this is going to cause fabrication with the exo as it mounts to the B52s).
Unwired all unnecessary cab wiring
PSC pump installed.
Ordered all the wiring stuff, Autometer gauges, WFO torque arm, new perches, and rear disc stuff.
Cut hole in floor for clocked case.
Cage floor plates fully welded.
Cage fully bolted in.
DIY4x dash cut and fitted
defrost vents modified
NP205 cleaned and prepped and threads chased
32 spline front output arrived
NP205 case cracked
New round pattern 205 found and bought...Ugh! I pick this up on Friday and start over on the cleaning and painting.

The shackle angle was pretty steep with the new 6' shackles. My B52 mounts were all the way forward. I drilled new holes and moved them up a notch. Much better I think. Pretty sure I would have contacted the frame with how it was before.

You can see how steep the angle is in the first 2 pics.

Gained another inch of wheelbase by moving the brackets, and still have another hole fwd I could use if I need to.

Cage work and hole in the floor. Saved.

I don't have many pics on my work computer of the cage stuff. Here are the floor plates and new gusset tubes and a paint drawing to show where they go.

Last pic is recent with the cage in during dash fitment.

Oh and the hole in the floor.

NP205.. tons of time into cleaning and painting this stuff all to crack the case during assembly :frown:angry1::frown:angry1:

I was torquing the idler shaft, and apparently the end of the shaft was deformed or mushroomed a bit. Around 100 ft/bs I heard a snap and found the crack in the case. Completely demotivated me for a while, but I found another round pattern and pick that up Friday. I got a 32 spline output as well. I think I am going to order the Beyond Precise mount for the rear of my new case.
