Awesome Thread!

ALOT of great info here guys THANKS!

doing a 6.0/R.V. 4l80e/np205(70s style) swap now in my 72 SWB 4x4 and this thread has some great info.

hey guys I found a guy selling a rebuilt np205 32 spline will this bolt right up to my 99 2wd 4l80e with R.V. shaft? I am currently reading through this thread again as well just figured I'd post to see if someone who knows might answer..thanks in advance

do you have a fixed yoke or slip shaft on the back of the tranny ?

and dont forget to swap out the freeze plug to 4x4 version on the back of the tranny. gm part # is in here.

and what year/style is the 32 spline 205 ? fig 8 adaptor or round 6 style adaptor ?

get this info and if possible post pic's .

and how much does he want for reman 205 ?

thay are real easy to reman. if you pay 25 to be full member here you will see all pics and get to the tech section for paid members. there is a 5.3-6.0 swap thread in there and my 4l80-e to 203 range box to ord doubbler kit to 32 spline 205 . range box and 205 i remaned my self . i had never done before and used info from internet. i even included the links in the end of the story. and there is a LOT of pics step by step on the reman job.

I wanna join but I'm not sure if this info is more geared towards serious offroaders/crawlers...I'm not doing any doubler etc. just want my stock NP205 to work with newer mtr and trans. this truck will be a driver that sees some 4wd when I go hunting/fishing or take my son out for some fun in the mud No serious rock crawling etc.

chevy np 205 32spline that bolts right up to a th400 tranny. It has been totally rebuilt and has a billet aluminum kit from northwest offroad on it, which cost about $200 alone

need to know what style he has. thats the back pic. need pic of the front.

and what tranny do you have now ? you need a 205 from a 400 . or you need to machine the 205 case for bigger input bearing and get the input gear to swap in.

the case he has looks like a super deal for 450 with all thats done if it got a full reman. not just a degreas and seals and fresh overhall paint job.

as to 25 for the site to your needs. we have people here from no 4x4 at all to crazy builds. all kinds and all friendly. :waytogo:

I'll check and see if its A FULL REMAN OR JUST THE SEALS ETC. but hell i figure if I get it for $450 it already has the 32 spline input shaft I hafta put in mine anyways and its 100 times nicer lookin with the raptor coat and billet.

oh now dont blam me when you make friends and have fun .

ya if you got 27 spline from th350 now and need 32 spline then his all done up for 450 is good. but does it come with the adaptor ? if not there is another 200ish to buy up . not here much but on ebay for around that price. yours from the 350 setup wont work.

now a full member look here for my 4l80-e to 203 to 205 doubbler kit and reman i did. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253000 warning TON'S of pics.

you werent kidding on the pics! nice write up I'll hafta read it thoroughly when I have more time.

link to the advanced adaptor kit please. need to make sure you get the right one.

and thay are a bit expensive also. and some kits down grade the shaft to the smaller 27 spline stuff.

just checked there site. $628 now. for 4l80-e swap kit to 205.

included aluminum copy of the gm iron adaptor. new input gear. and few parts.

with there kit you will prob have to machine out the tcase also. info on there site dosnt mention machine work.

just down loaded there instructions. REQUIRES machine work to fit. and also dosnt say anything about the rear freeze plug to swap to 4x4.

just a heads up on the kits and parts you are looking for.

best to get the tranny and post pics. then we or i can direct you in the right direction. can be done cheeper than the $628 kit. and you can sell your th350/205 combo to make back some money.

Ive got a quote for $570 shipped to me.... how difficult to machine the tcase and install the input gear on a scale of 1/10

I'm gunna call them and see how much just for the adaptor and pick up the redone tcase...I think

Funny how this thread has been brought back up. I've got it saved to my favorites page.

Agreed, very, very helpful and detailed info. You won't find stuff like this on other sites.

fyi you got a better deal than you think.

aftermarket flat flange front = about 100 bucks. and chances are its a swaped in 32 spline front output shaft.

looks like new shift rails and no link plate. = prob twin sticked. = around 120 for new modifyed rails.

even if its got bad parts worst case. you got a smokin deal for 400 bucks.

link plate, cover, and bolts all came in a bag with it. I'm stoked!:D

I figured I could'nt have had mine redone with the billet kit & extra parts for that cheap and I will get decent $$ back out of mine with the th350 adaptor.... the name plate on mine looks brand new even though the case looks weathered almost like it was just replaced :dunno:
