K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

I'll be there the 25th through the 29th. Should be showing up in the afternoon on the 25th so maybe that evening we could meet up. You leaving early on the 25th?

That could workout.
We NEVER leave Pismo early.... The wife won't allow it. :thumb:

We usually ride out around sunset, to catch it from the hill. :D
Either that or watch it on the beach, then roll out.

The wifes a romantic... :D
(*And, I love long distance driving, at night.... Flip on the Hella's, and roll on!)

At any rate, It'd be cool to get a couple shots of the rig, or at least see it, clean...
Pre-sandblasting.

And, to meet another member of the brotherhood. :thumb:

Sounds like a plan, when time gets closer pm me your number and we'll meet up.

Those tabs are a great idea to keep the springs straight. I will miss Burt and I banging the crap out of them on the trail:)

I was thinking about that the whole time I was welding them up. :D
We're not going to know what to do with ourselves once I have a truck that doesn't break down in one form or another every trip.

are those rock lights the 12.99 ones from harbor freight? what kinda pattern do they throw?

I don't remember exactly where I got those, I've had them for years. I think they were from walmart and I used to have them up front. Either way I know they were cheap and have been abused for years with no new bulbs or issues. They get kinda beat where they are right now and they don't complain. :haha:
They throw a flood pattern that lights up everything all the way beside the truck just about up to the headlights.

My sister's truck needed front brakes so I ended up having to do that last night instead of work on the k10 but that's ok, she's good to go now.

So tonight I managed to get a couple hours of work in and as usual ended up getting all dark on me.

Started by getting the traction bar put back in...

Then started mocking up my rear shocks...

Whipped up some upper tabs and got the limiting straps "adjusted" (twists, :)) and put on...

My dad snapped a pic since he thought it looked cool at night. :)

Passenger side all done...

Looks great, you are busting this thing out. You might add another support or two to the trac bar. They reaaly take a beating. Mine is 1 3/4" .120 wall dom, with the bottom having a 1/2 piece of 2" .120 dom welded on and 3 support tubes. And its bent to craaaappp.

It's been on there a couple seasons now and is still straight after a couple good hits. It is 1.5" .250" wall though. :D

UPS man showed up tonight with some goodies. Both joints and one of the cromo inners. The other inner is coming from another place and should be here tomorrow. I'll snag some full snap rings tomorrow on the way home from work.

Sweeet, what flavor of shafts?

Yukons, I already have 35 spline Yukon outers that I bought with the housing so figured I would keep it the same. Stock small block, 40's and this front end I think I'll be good to go in the strength department. :)

I would hope so:D. I'm all yukon with spicer joints in the front and haven't had any problems over the last 3 years. Lightly tuned up small block, now on 42's, but was 39.5 the last year and 36 before that.

Another box!

The long inner shaft showed up while I was at work today. I also picked up some full snap rings to use when I put it all together.

I really enjoy how this truck started out as a stereotypical mall crawler and is now transitioning into a truck that can hang with the best of them! Great job Avery!

Probably my most favorite build on the website!

Wow, that's pretty awesome because there are some really nice trucks around here. It's different, that's for sure. Haven't decided if it's good different or bad different, I'll decide once it hits the trails again. :D

I've been tied up the past couple nights but from here on out it looks like I'm free and clear to get back to work.

Haha I don't know for some reason I just really like this one and I think it's convincing me I need a truck instead of a blazer for an off roader!
