LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
May need to do some GoPro under the hood vids.
This, but you can probably see it just in park in the driveway. You can actually accel and decel the engine faster in neutral than in gear.

I mentioned a few times that I did that, and the belt stretches way out.

Only thing I haven't done is have some one hold the brakes when I do it, or turn the wheel.
Plan on doing vids that way today.

The length of the belt is in the part number. So take whatever part number you're running now and see what the next higher part number is and it's that many mm longer.
The part number and length don't seem to match at all. With either inches or mm

I can get one 3/8"longer, or 1" longer.
Both are $175 in an RPM version.

Did you put a longer straight edge on the tensioner pulley to see if it is aligned with the belt in both axis?

That's probably right. The 061130 is 113 and 9/16"

Haven't left the house yet. It's hot as F**" and I don't do well in the heat right now.

My Pontiac G8, came over from Aussieland - Holden. There are 2 belts on it. one does only the a/c on it. And after in production for a year or so people started tossing belts on that. Happened to me once. on/off throttle would cause it. Holden came up w/ another bracket w/ an idler wheel on it nearly opposite the tensioner and a slightly longer belt and never happened again. I had to import from Australia though.

Anyhow, the point of that.. Maybe a simple idler wheel on a long span will help with flutter.

That's the same number as the gates version

I was thinking of just that. Was planning on looking at a spot for one when I get up there

Can't really straight edge off anything but the big alt. And that seemed fine.
Got this pic to see what it looks like. :dunno: IMG_20250704_133955646_HDR.jpg

And this was a couple decent throttle blips.
When idling it does look like it's bouncing around a little. But most do that I've actually watched.

I ordered a GM original, and I'm contemplating just getting the RPM belt. Its less than $150 at O'Reilly's, but I haven't asked for actual price yet.

Hard to see, but on 1/4 speed the section below the tensioner is fluttering. Down by the water neck. First rev not so much but the 2nd/3rd they are. Not sure if you've got a way to put an idler wheel in under the belt there. Even if it doesn't cause any more tension maybe it'll calm the flutter down.

That section isn't very long. But I can see what I could do.
It is still the longest unsupported section.

It does look like it's a pretty short section of belt. Maybe someone will see something I didn't.

You're running hydroboost on that? That doesn't seem right that it's that under load. You have a line reversed somewhere?
