LSX454 swapped 95 BASS burb.

Little lower, little cooler, bigger sounds.
I'd have to basically drown it to get water in the map on this setup.
I do have to check the cam and crank plugs yet.
The ECM plugs did look like there had been moisture in them.
Had dielectric grease in them, but that looked more dull shiny, and there was random spots of SHINY shiny in there. If that makes sense lol.
Probably get the ECM back in, and get the other plugs checked out today.

Pretty sure it had to do mainly with the crank sensor on one end or the other, since when it was messing up I had no RPM readout .

They covered the whole car though lol.

I think if I threw it in and just drove it it'd be fine.

I just wanted to pull stuff apart and check it .

It drove up here totally fine after sitting a day. With no issues at all.
I opened it for the ell of it since I had it out.
Took it out to measure, and see about a small box for it to go in. Plus checking the plugs for water intrusion.
I wonder if it maybe wouldn't have been so bad if the 10 farard capacitor wasn't hooked up :dunno: .
Wouldn't take as much of a path for it to jump with that.

I save some quantities of silica beads for drying stuff out. Just heat the beads in the toaster over for a while to dry them out and they're recharged. I question how dry rice really is.

I have a whole like 5 pound bottle of silica beads I got for an air dryer I had planned to make.

I re-greased the plugs, and put the ECM back in.
Started it up and backed it out of the shop.
Been running about 20 min.
No issues yet :dunno:
I can't get to the sensors without the lift, and a lot of BS. So I'm gonna go with it for now.
The lift has been tied up for a bit. But I spent most of today getting it cleared out.

Drove it to work and back yesterday. The to work tonight so far.
All good.

Looking at my harness, it runs off the firewall, down to the inner fender, and past the ECM. Then folds back to it.

Then, here under the AC deal, is the old pass through for the factory harness to the diesels ECM.
When pulled apart it's big enough for the plugs to pass through IIRC.

I'm not tearing into it till the season is over.
Probably knock it out before it's parked technically, but I don't want it down that long till right at the end.

Burb down.! :doah::frown:notworthy:

I think my trucks jealous of @r3dd0g s truck. Wants to be like it.. :haha:

Drove it around with the grandson yesterday. No issues.
On my way to work , I swung by the store.
When I came out, I put it in drive, and it just revved like neutral.....:dunno:
Put it in third and it took off., so I pushed it back up in drive and it kept going,
Figured it was a fluke, had it not quite in gear... Etc.
Drove all the way to a small town I usually down shift to 3rd for. Because I have to go back through my lockup settings. If I coast down from 4th, it'll start bucking around 45 mph as it has t down shifted and it's still locked. So I just drop it in 3 instead of riding the brake till it shifts on its own.

Down to 3... No difference, still bucking. So now I'm concerned. ....? Wtf
Ride brakes, leave it alone. Got through town, got up to 60, down shift to 3. No change in rpm.

Get to work, really worried, put it park, and it takes off in reverse :yikes:
Shut it off, parked on a small hill, WTF do I do now:dunno:
Grab a roll of paper towels, open door, turn on seat, hold brakes, then jump the F*** out, and shove the roll under the back tire :haha:

Then, with no other idea, my dumb ass slid under as far as I could, (glad I've lost weight lol), unhook the linkage, (also glad I have a push clip instead of a cotter key), and try twisting the shift shaft into park.
It had to be rotated all the way, horizontal to earth to click into park.

At this point, it appears that the detent cam on the inside end of the shift shaft, either came loose, or has stripped the flat sides off.Screenshot_20260926-075442~2.jpg

That part seems easy enough to check/fix.
But I hope like h3ll that there's no damage done due to probably not being all the way in gear or something.
The only thing that felt weird when it was driving in, is the shifts felt slightly softer:doah::notworthy:
I wasnt trying burnouts or 1/4 miles, so hopefully that's all good.

To get it home I climbed under it, spun the shift shaft back, quite a ways till I felt the detent for drive. Then jumped in, thanked myself for never hooking up the neutral safety switch, started it up, and drove away.
Even though it was seated in the detent, it still kind of felt softer, but I may have been imagining it.

Pulled it into the shop, shut it off in gear, blocked the wheels and came home cause I was tired.
I'll play with it another day.
