No, don't own one. Had this old thing for a long time. Principal should be the same. Unless there is something I don't know about the dial type? They just give you a reading through a dial face instead of the beam type shown, right?

And your axle moves back under compression already. So just take that into account
I dunno, my rear axle sits further forward now since the lift. Noticeably forward. But, my truck already has a rake to it so I'm not adding an ez inch to the rear to move the axle.
While the rear axle does move back under compression, it's often easier to trim sheet metal back there for tire clearance. Most of the time it's rusty back there anyways so you "de-fang" the rear much like the front.
More Pros:
Adds wheelbase which is good for stability off road while climbing and rides better on road. 1" may be negligible. 2" may be noticeable.
The biggest advantage you have right now, Rich, the SYE and sooper doody slip shaft. There should be enough slip in that shaft for you to experiment with rear axle placement. All you have to do is unbolt the u-bolts and move the axle back or forward. I would start 1" back and go from there.
I'm going to cut lots when I do my rear bumper.
In that case, have at moving it back. But don't get a driveshaft made, and then move the axle around later on...
I think you could go back an inch and not worry about anything. I am thinking of stretching mine 2 inches, one in front and one in back when I do my swap.
I can't remember, did you do a shackle flip for the rear lift? If so, doing that moves your axle forward about an inch. I moved mine back an inch and it is back to being centered in the wheel opening. Just my .02.

Thanks, I'm sure you just saw my edit. I was mocking the shock up on the wrong side of the axle.
Deleted my post as I wasn't sure it was relevant as mine is a truck vs your blazer and the shock mounts are different. My shock only made contact at extreme articulation running 56" rears

I can't wait to get back. I hope next year I can just jump in my truck, turn the key, and drive down.
I haven't driven the truck enough to get any further with the steering.
