PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
So just to stir the thinking tank some more, what about spending some more money on top of a master cylinder upgrade and do the Dodge caliper upgrade to the front too??
:D
My Dana 60F is an old dodge unit. It has huge calipers on it. Are these the calipers you speak of?

I believe that there is a kit which will allow use of dual piston calipers and hat style rotors from late 2000's trucks. I can't remember the company name. Requires 17" wheels, but PlanB already has H2 wheels.

It’s tork Motorsports if I remember right.
‘09 and up 3500 brakes I think

I am pretty happy with factory D60 brakes on the front and AAM10.5 factory discs on the rear. The callipers are fairly well matched on my Blazer at the moment.

You have 40 inch tires 40 inch tires are not gotta wanna lock up they have a large rotating mass.
I'm just looking for brakes that are more than a suggestion. What I'm currently running is not good. I was looking at doing drilled and slotted rotors with powerstop extreme pads to see if that helped but I really think it's line pressure.

I can't imagine my stock master cylinder would be provide enough fluid or pressure for an even bigger caliper but if I could get the pressure up I'd definitely look into this.

I am betting that you are correct about looking at the fluid volume and pressure. Mine is ok, but not great. But I haven't done rear disc yet. I believe that I understand part of what you don't like.

I am just trying to stir things and see if you try that kit by suggesting it!
:waytogo::whistle:

I am very guilty of trying things my ck5 friends suggest lol

2200 stall

I have my c10 booster and master cylinder along with the disc drum prop valve. I can lock mine up and slide the rear around with a disc aam 10.5 You might have seen it a few times lol

This is what I like to hear. It's a similar set up to what I'll be running.

On my k5 the factory 6.2 master and vacuum booster would lock up my 37s.

I've got the part list for the big brake kit :D

I took advice from @nvrenuf and got the master cylinder for the c3500. It's about 1.25" taller but I think it will fit it will just smoosh the hood insulation a little. I added this box of drill bits and I could still easily close the hood.

If it doesn't fit for some reason I may be able to swap resivors because they look nearly identical.

I have been trying to confirm for sure if the farthest forward port is the rear brakes like the blazer master cylinder.

I'm not sure how much it matters. I did notice the fitting sizes are reversed on the k5 vs the c3500. (See the screenshots)

Is hydroboost better/stronger than vacuum boost?

The brakes on this truck hasn't been great ever, seems like they got worse after going 1 ton, then worse after 40s and worse again post ls swap. I keep guessing and replacing parts but I'm wondering if I need to swap to hydroboost. I have hesitated doing that because I didn't want to stress my power steering pump with additional work because of the ram assist.

What do the fine people of the interwebs think?
