PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
If all works according to plan i should be using @ashman lift and shop to install the A-bomb and winch on PB. We are planning on saturday feb 2nd :) IF time allows maybe i can get the heavy duty spring hangers and shackles on (fingers crossed)!

If any of you local utah guys want to lend a hand it would be appreciated! Just let me know, I can only promise shop talk and grub:hack::grind::weld:

@skunked did you remove that center support on your truck when you did the a-bomb or did it just not have one? I an thinking of just cutting part of it if possible so there is still some support.

Something else i have noticed is in all the pictures i have seen nobody is running the stock oil cooler... i wonder if it will clear...

Part of me wants to ditch the oil cooler im just not sure what id need to get to change where the oil lines come out above the oil filter...

I cracked a stock oil cooler. Budget build and a replacement was big money. Decided to get rid of the cooler. The oil line adapter bolts to the block. Get a stock oil filter adapter and bolt it on instead. Simple and cheap but I wish I still had the extra cooling.

Figured out a solution for the plug delema... i didn't want to have to reach under the truck to plug it in... and the box is pretty big so finding a clever way to mount it kinda sucks... so i decided to pull the plug out of the box, added a bunch of wire and sealed the box again... i can now mount this plug just about anywhere. :) yay!

I doubt I'll be going this year. It's been a crazy busy year already, and I'm still working on the shop, so it's eating any extra money I have still. :(

I can send you pics of the 241, or you could just come look at it any time. :D

So I've got this figured out, my kid takes 2 hour naps in the afternoon, that makes for perfect guilt free shop time. I got a bunch done this week in the 4 hour block i have. Once the paint is fully cured I'll throw the antiwrap back in.

I think it's ready for the a-bomb install (i have gone as far as i can without cutting rivets.

Back doing better?
Yeah much better, a few back to back (no pun intended) rounds of steroids, new office chairs, stretching/exercises, and a combo of muscle relaxers and occasional pain meds and its like im a new man ;)
Pretty glad i didn't let them talk me into fusing the disk like they suggested.

Never do that.
To them it's good money.
To you it's the end.
Can't go back

Reading about the factory oil coolers, seems like they are a decent idea and work well when they work but when they explode or leak its a spectacular mess. I think I'll keep it but i picked up the filter adapter and will keep it in the glove box just in case i have an issue on a trail.
I also got a backup plug for the winch in case my wiring ever develops an issue.
Never a bad idea to carry a backup plan.

FYI, those filter adapters use a pretty specific set of bolts to attach it to the block...
