PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
Every single bushing was worn and or cracking... I am fairly confident this was a bad batch or the manufacturer isn't putting out a great product. I compared it to my energy suspension bushings and this brand is much harder. I wonder if it's too hard so it doesn't give it just cracks? I will give them one more shot...

Anyone have a good recommendation on a synthetic winch rope? I finally got a chance to use my winch and I destroyed my cable.
I see off brand ropes that are pretty inexpensive and then I see name brand ropes that cost more than my winch....

Yeah, those prices seem higher than I remember. I do know I got mine on a really good sale Jegs was having but I twas thinking it was still cheaper to begin with.

I will say that after being stuck on a trail in the snow over night and not being sure we were going to make it out, I'm super happy to have a really good winch line. My cheap rope broke during that night. We had slid off the side of the trail and the next stop was straight down a long steep slope. I decided after that I didn't want a rope I had to worry about breaking due to abrasion.

So here's a weird one.... I have completely drained and filled the entire cooling system on this truck probably 5 times since I have owned it (like 2 years) and I just threw that freshly rebuilt radiator in it... my coolant still looks rusty.... like it goes from universal sorta off green to rusty brownish in a couple hundred miles. That seems really weird. Part of me wants to get a flush kit and hook a hose up to it and really let it cycle good and clean it out... then the other part of me says if it isn't broke dont fix it...

Use the evaporust flush system.
I have one ready to go in my Jimmy.
It's rusted bad enough that the flush didn't clean it so I got the evaporust.
I will let you know how it goes

also side note.... switching from a 4 core brass radiator to an aluminum 4 core radiator that is the exact same size i dropped 30 degrees in operating temps in my other truck. i think i am pretty sure i will get aluminum radiators from now on.

So doing the Ford shock towers has been more of a pain in the but than I expected. 1 I should have done more measurements before I got started 2 the math makes no sense... but I think I got it in a good place now. (Only 1 side so far)
