PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
I'd run some eye bolts and big washers through the roof and hang it from those.

I did that on my 73, used the eye bolts for ratchet straps if I needed to carry anything on the roof too

maybe on the white one... i wont drill holes in the silver one, hard top or anywhere lol

I never even thought of the silver one. :doah:

IME the sides will pull out just a bit. So the strap under the top is the way to go

why would you need to support the sides?
@blazinzuk stores his from eye bolts and pretty sure my 72 hard top was stored that way cuz it had eye bolts too.
you could run straps or a support under it length wise and hoist it to the ceiling from the front and rear.

I didn't mean support the sides so much as not pull the sides apart by stress.

For the Jimmy I'm gonna drill some 2x4s put one under each side and have them lift straight up.

Using eye bolts in the ends of the 2x4s.

didnt even consider this.... lol so maybe strap it from the top and bring it up to the ceiling then run straps under the sides running lengthwise to support the sides... boom there you go that would work.

This is how we store Dave's first gen top during the summer. Not my pic but same setup but with ratchet straps.

yeah that's about how i store mine currently, my goal here is to avoid a strap across the bottom. if my ceilings were a couple feet taller this is how i would do it.
