PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
For the doors, how much of a gap (if any) did you have after you cut them down? did you weld the seam back up?

I think it was like 1/4 inch... i measured the stock gap and recreated it. and yes i recreated the factory door seal. it was really easy and my doors seal well

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the speedo stuff (like the only thing) should transfer between your 208 and the 241.

that's actually one of the big differences between the 208 and the 241, the output housing/speedo housing are completely different. the 241 has a 2 part housing for the output and the 208 is one piece. i dont know if the guts are the same or not but the SYE kit i'm looking at will give me some of the parts i need... basically everything except the housing.

I'm talking about the drive gear, driven gear, and speedo piece. I thought I read somewhere you could use 208 stuff on the 241. Probably not worth it though, even if you could. This way you have two complete cases you can sell to buy the right one.

If i could just come up with the housing part i would totally be willing to rob parts from one of my 208s or the 241 i have now. I currently have a 208 and 241 just sitting not doing me any good. also if the parts are interchangeable that is a huge bonus because it means they are likely easy to come by :)

Man I have to say the ck5 community blows my mind! I have never met a cooler group of guys that are so willing to help each other out.

I was able to find the unicorn 241 i needed but it was clear in denver, i put the call out and Dan @85k5witha6.2 answered and is giving my tcase a ride to moab for me! I've never met Dan and he didn't even hesitate to lend a hand. Amazing people here on ck5!

I feel better having that with me at fsi in case I bottom out my driveline again. Since its welded vs plugged I'm fairly sure it will blow up my 208.

Cant wait to convert to a sye and do a longer slip in the driveline.

Thanks @Capt Ron for the case and again @85k5witha6.2 for giving it a ride :)

Full day wrapping up some last minute projects before FSI/EJS .
Welded the axle tubes, checked the torque specs on a ton of stuff, measured for new shocks, painted, painted and painted some more... and of course because I'm going to a jeep event I needed to get at least one light bar installed...
