Restored back to original rigs

I like this thread, My wife has Arthritis Pretty bad and over the years has started to get where she can't crawl up in the truck. Well I don't wanna get rid of the truck and I've decided to keep the wife, :D So I'm looking into going back to stock. This thread has kind of helped me with my choice. I never went radical with it so its not a stretch to get back to original..

It's also nice to see some good looking original trucks

damn that looks perfect at that height, whats the lift/tire/wheel width specs?

It would look great at any height :thumb:

Sorry , thats a digital picture of a normal picture lol.

I dont have any current pics , but it looks the same really except now I have 35" all terrains instead of the 33" muds

Thanks for the compliment, The interior needs a little work yet, dash is cracked and the Headliners sagging. but overall she's very clean.

It's a 4" lift with 35" tires on 15 x 10" rims. Should be a little taller for the tires at some times it will rub. I'd go with 6" lift for these tires if it saw any real time on a trail but there really are not any decent trails in Florida other than swamp. Up in South Carolina where I was living when I bought it, well that is another story, there are great trails there.

Sweet thread...Beautiful trucks you guys have.

Shovelbill, your pic made me feel like I was 23 again. 85 was berry, berry good to me!

Id have to measure it but I had a 7' garage door at my house in South Carolina and litterally had only 1/2" of clearance to get the truck in the garage. If I went to fast it would bounce and rub the weatherstriping on the garage frame. Though I think the frame clearance was like 80".

I'll get you a exact dimension when I get home tonight.

Jeremy C, Thanks for the compliment.

For what it's worth, mine fits in with 37" tires and a 4" lift. I think I get by with about 1/2".....it is SOooooo close!

Just Measured it and with worn tires so there is about another inch in there on new shoes. 83 1/2" is what it measures at now. The rims size and tire make will change it a little bit, but I'm glad I have an 8' door at the new house. Clearance isn't an issue now.

Thanks, looks like I better stick to 3" and 33's :thumb:

My K30 should fit nicely into the original class. No wheeling here, just daily hard work.

I am going for a "resto-mod" style restoration on my K5. The interior will be totally stock, besides my sound system, and will have all new Silverado trim to make it look like an original "new" truck. Obviously the drivetrain, suspension, and tires/wheels bring up the mod part.

What size tires are you running??

Any new additions?

Well, I've gotten my K5 completely finished on the exterior and it is back to original 1985 Silverado glory.:haha: Minus a billet grille though....:thumb:

I just ordered a ton of interior parts for my K30, I'm going to keep it saddle tan and install new carpet, door panels, fix the door straps, and new weather stripping.

Basically all the interior pieces are here for my K5, the last order from Classic Parts is on a UPS truck now. Only thing left are seats to choose, which won't be original though.
