Dialed the air screws and brought vacuum to 14in/Hg. Just needs a choke added from the old unit.
How many was that from the previous 15? Is it going to work? I have the ls version of your camDialed the air screws and brought vacuum to 14in/Hg. Just needs a choke added from the old unit.
Doesn’t sound terrible but room to workIt already sounds better into the secondaries. Old carb puked then slowly increased rpm. Super rich at idle. Engine blowing lean under throttle. I would call it snappy now. 13.2 to 14.5 AFR all of the way through.
I would sort out the primaries first. You either need one step softer on the power enrichment Spring, or one more jet maybe two more jets in the front. After that I would mess with the secondaries, I would probably either go one rod size bigger, or three hanger size is deeper.Flooring and seats are done. Now I am going to have to put the new column and shifter in. It is like driving with ape hangers.
Tank comes out tomorrow to see what the pickup issue is and fix the sending unit.
Drove it finally. Runs a lot better. Help me tune it. Never done it with an AFR gage.
Warmed up idle is at 13.2 to 13.5. 800rpm out of gear
Under normal acceleration, primaries only, and at speed under light load, 15.1to 15.4. Lean.
Under massed peddle, 10.5. Rich. No bogg.
So I am thinking, step up primary jets one step. No, I do not know what is in it. Run it to test.
Just came to mind. I could pull the cover and the air cleaner and watch what the secondaries are doing.
They are Canadian. Those seats look three tits good!!
Did not drive it enough to notice.Does it rattle less now?

That little Honda- When you said street legal, any idea what hoops he had to jump through? This would be awesome for bumming around the coast.

I think there are 3 and a complete distributor in my burb at any given timeAnd zombie comment #2, I always kept an HEI module in my glovebox after I had one crap out in my first K5 back in the 80s.![]()
No hoops in Tennessee. Proof of import was needed. They street legal quads here. They are restricted to 50mph and under roads. That little Honda- When you said street legal, any idea what hoops he had to jump through? This would be awesome for bumming around the coast.

I have a complete, new, distributor in the tool box.I think there are 3 and a complete distributor in my burb at any given time
Crazy how different states are on things like this. In NC golf carts are ok for streets under 30 MPH, but side by sides are not. I’ll have to check on these. ThanksNo hoops in Tennessee. Proof of import was needed. They street legal quads here. They are restricted to 50mph and under roads.
That is a lot of unusable fuel!Pulled the gas tank. Found the fuel gauge float hung up on the pick tube. My mistake when I installed it. I thought it cleared. So I turned the sending unit 90*. I did not measure the pickup when I put the new screen on it. Was obviously not for this tank. Was 3 inches short of the bottom. Now it is 1/2" off of the bottom. 3" off of the bottom, in a 40 gallon tank, is a bunch of gas. I hope this solves the running out when I know I have gas in it issue.
