Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

My friends is older like a '90ish. Its been well maintained and it looks great. I don't think he runs all the way out to the canyons for fishing though. He mostly uses it for weekend runs to Block Island to pick up chicks :pimp1:

Anyways enough distraction, back to your regularly scheduled program.

bad rocker nut on #4 intake, thus the clatter... much better now...

this weekend's agenda plug wires, tach and volt gauge... ummmmm, some other stuff too.....

You are the man. Sounds like it's getting better every time you work on it.:thumb:

thanks, yeah, I'm plodding thru her.. definitely still has a few issues, but she's becoming a healthier DD'er every day... I stiil may do a top end on this mill in the fall..... I'll see how long it takes me to buy the tube bed stuff.... :doah:

sorry, I didn't get a lot of pics doing the plug wires... camera batteries dead...

just when I had the one side set up prior to cutting.... it just cut, strip, crimp done...

I went for somewhat orderly street driver as opposed to anal f*cktard showcar neat.... :haha: boy, that pics a bit blurry.... :doah:

tank ya sir.... :D

put the same fuel fill on the pass side as the ds... got the tach bracket made, tomorrow I'll install some gauges... than I'll probably work on stripping the good doors and fender I have...

not sure yet.... haven't tried stuffing anything up there yet.... :dunno:

doesn't seem like it'd be good for anything small...

it was the old one from the K5 that I planned on replacing... it'll do for now.... feel naked without a tach and a manual.. :haha:

so, yes, I swapped the back seat to the front... so much cleaner and firmer...

the only difference is the back has the flip forward seat, whereas the front is fixed.. you could swap backs if one wanted.. I didn't bother...

Where'd you get those wire looms? Very clean looking, I want a set :waytogo:

BTW I like the ginormous tach, where's the obnoxious shift light to go with it?

BTW your shock bushings look TOASTED...

Also all standard cab benches flip foward so I wouldn't be concerned about using the rear bench.

they're Taylor's cheap clamp style ones http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TAY-42720

btw... couple points of interest..

I still friggin hate bench seats and can't wait to have buckets/console...

sucks.. I'm BROKE until friday, so no toys... I'll get my back springs done this week tho... than new exhaust like the 17th... than finally my inspection guy can have it...

oh, this appears to be a non-roller cammed motor.. figured it was, but didn't spy any holddowns , etc down the headhole with the vc off... all the more reason to clean the heads up and throw a new Comp Cam hydro roller package at it...

I don't think any stock chevy TBI engine ever came as a roller cam, I think the Vortec in 96 or 97 and up is the first that was.

for some reason I was thinking the truck motors got em, like cop cars.. but that was just a vague recollection if that...
