Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

i'll get a bit of each.. i'm assuming they'll only have a standard-ish red but we'll see...

next weekend.................. duck mods! :woot: :haha:

kind of a reward for this weeks project... :deal:

Somewhere, somehow, someday, you (mister king of mods) are going to have to figure out a way to make the horn go quack quack quack instead of beep beep beep.

trainhorn maybe, it is getting a york...

I was thinking more like red LED's for eyes and cigar tip... :haha:

now THAT would be a hard mod... :eek1:

paints and brushes will be here later in the week for the mallard.....

I know you have said but i dont recall, when are you going to paint the rest of the truck? Looks good down at the marina though!

well, I'll actually try to time out the back wall with the tubebed "final" mount...

the doors and roof i can do at any time, they're labor fill time.. i have most of the materials/supplies to do em.... like the back doors.. i could strip em both over a weekend, get em rg, fill, red and back on.. but i want to make sure i have as much felt, weatherstripping as i can beforehand.. for all the doors...

so i'll probably do the doors first, than put all 4 back together with new felts, etc.. so that may be within a month or so.. which, should really make the truck look close to fully painted..

than I'll see about stripping the roof and back, getting them thru prime... than right before the bed goes on, paint the roof and back... I don't expect this to happen till maybe feb or march... that's when I'm shooting to final mount the tube bed...

and thanks, she definitely garners some attention.. :pimp: people are drawn to it, they like to park next to her! :haha:

Im stoked to see it painted, duck mounted, and with the GMC grill on. Gonna look way too narly :thumb::popcorn:

alright.. ordering a stereo tonight.. give me the top 2 or 3 speaker quality manny's in your opinion please.... I'm gonna do 6 x 9's...

and I've decided to go with a Sony head unit.... I know, I know, but after looking at them extensively, I just like the layout of the face and features, so I'm gonna give it a shot and see how i like it...

My brother had some really nice polks... Or so they told us. Blew out in a year just after the warranty was up :doah:

He replaced with Kenwoods and way better sound.

And he doesnt crank his radio, or even have an amp or deck pushing....

I've had great luck with Pioneer 6x9's through the years, currently have some older 4 way's in the K30......still sound great :D

I've always heard that round speakers sound better, especially if you like to crank them up, because the 6x9 warps when pushed and the round doesn't...could be a myth...I loved my 6x9 JBL's...had magnets the size of a big mac on them...

Naw, shape don't matter. The speaker should only move in the plane of the magnet. I've seen triangular, square, all manner of weird woofers.

Now for higher frequencies I could see the dispersion pattern being noticeably different for weird (non-circular) shapes, but the coaxial tweeters on 6x9's will be circular anyway.
