Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

ok, got both pieces bent and started notching the one... still needs a bunch of fine tuning.. gotta come down and forward a bit, but here's a couple quick pics to get the idea.

I have plans next Saturday, so I'll only get sunday.. but I'm gonna try to get a few hr's in during the week too...

Looks damn sweet, Paul. It's coming out nice. :waytogo:

Must be the angle of the dangle, but it looks like your cab hoop is higher on the drivers side. :dunno:

thanks...

must just be the pic.. both sides are precisely 31 1/16" above the lower tubes... :pimp:

after 6 hr's, it better be perfect.... :haha:

I know you know EXACTLY what that's like.. :haha:

one was the perfect height right off the bat, but I had to work about a 1/2" out of the other notch.. grind, fit, repeat...

and they wheren't landing on a straight section, they actually land somewhat on that outer curve a bit so the fishmouths are a bit funky...

nah, haven't even talked to anyone.. but I'm definitely going with the 5052.. tire purchase and getting the pallets of toys here from Kert are coming first...

the alum will probably be bought before the toolboxes tho... but I wont have funding for it till around dec, or even x-mas if I splurge and buy 8 tires...

also have my daughters wedding in May to set aside for...

Holidays will always get ya! Congrats on the wedding too! Even though it's cutting into your funds!!:D

thanks...

met my future SIL for the first time tonight.. smart kid.. it's been an amazing turn around for my daughter the last couple yr's.. I couldn't be more happy or proud...

expensive materials, a spring wedding and throw in my want for a new pooch in January and I've come to realize the last couple days that I need to nut up, deal with the knee/back pain and bang out a whole mess of OT before new yr's... :deal: :doah: :haha:

I missed it somewhere Paul, but what is your reasoning for making the "flat" part so high up? Why not frame height, easier to load. Or are there going to be a gang of boxes slung from it?

thanks...

Glad to hear it. It's cool you approve of the SIL definitely will help make the years to come a lot easier!

Yes your laundry list is growing!! Puppies and shiny things add up. Might as well get it while u can before the cold sets in. Ya never know what the winter will bring. I have the same situation. Get it before it freezes so I can hibernate in the garage this winter. :woot:
