Ryoken's 89 Crew Cab Tubebed build... aka Mutt....

christmas-light-car-truck.jpg

ya know... for safety. :haha:

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

no crue...... I'm sure it's correctable if so..

actually, I don't think so, anymore or something... I thought I saw something somewhere in the descriptions about the board in them correcting for that... but that's kind of a guess/assumption at this point.. :doah: :haha:

I installed LED bulbs on my UTV and it just required an LED specific flasher. The std flasher doesnt work because the LEDs don't draw enough current to cycle it. Just get an LED specific flasher with its own ground wire, then you don't have to worry about how many LEDs are in the system. I tried an LED flasher without the ground wire first and it didn't work very well at all, the LEDs would go from dim to dimmer and never really turn completely off or on.

It looked like this, they make them in 2 and 3 wire flashers...

hmmm, lot's of cheap deals on eghey on lights.. miro-flex in both colors, etc...

it just makes sense to me...

also now that it was mentioned earlier, the whole "see it from the side because of the angle dangle" safety thought, really confirms it to me..

Mutt's getting in your lane yacka$$, out of the way!!! :woot: :haha:
I was just being a smart a$$, but it does seem to have some merit. Love the "final" design you picked. That's the first time I've ever seen the top of the light angled inboard. Looks awesome!

Just noticed the same this morning. I'll be getting a set of ovals and pre-fabbed steel boxes to replace the surface mounts I keep breaking on my trailer.

If they are name-brand, they might be ok through eBay.

they are apparently the optronix or whatever that etrailer sells with miro-flex.. and like I mentioned, I actually found ambers on there, when I couldn't find em on the etrailer site...

amber http://www.ebay.com/itm/301463605712?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

AND they are only $16 and 17.. with free shipping.. :eek1: I may order em very soon..

they also have some good looking reverse lights.. very similar to what I posted... these have a high led count.. and that diffused type look when lit if you look at the pics... not quite as good a deal, but still free shipping..

that's $207 shipped for all 12.... WITH grommets AND plugs.. the sites charge for that stuff...

I don't know what fuggin math I was doing earlier, but getting the 10 red/ambers from superbright is $220 WITHOUT grommets and plugs... add the 2 similar reverse lights from etrailer where $78.. :eek1: no grommets, etc...

so that was gonna be OVER $300..

fock, I might order em tonight.... :haha:

Those are the ones on my truck. The optronics are what Fazzios had and theyre $15 a piece and yes they are bright as a mother ****er. Obviously they have red but I think they have amber also.

As far as the blinkers go they will work fine if you keep regular bulbs up front. They'll blink a tad faster but nothing crazy. On my shortbed I put LED bulbs up front too in addition to the tails and they literally wouldnt blink. I went to pepboys and matched my blinker module to the correct pin for LEDs and it work like norm with no external ground.

maybe when I go to get my alum next week, I'll get all the red/ambers.. I also need 20' of 1 x 2 too...

If you go to Allied Diesel up in freehold, on business route 33, they have a bunch of different lights up on their wall all lite up. It'll at least give you a chance to check some out before buying any.

Other then that the truck looks badass!!

thanks... :D I may be going right by there in a couple weeks on my way out to my mom's.. maybe I can stop in.. :waytogo:

Where are you going to mount the Aircraft Landing Lights? :eek1:

You got to have a few of those...for those foggy rescues out near the water...

Maybe some of these boat lights...plasma rods..

them things be pretty bright... see the previous mentioned C-hoop floodlights for water rescues... ;)

but you did make me think of something that I hadn't thought of.. at some point, I want to add some "in box" lighting for the slide out drawers..

12 v led flexible light strips. Small cheap bright easy. Drawer lighting. I want to do some sort of perimeter lighting when I do my crew cab so working on stuff at night and night trips are good. Nothing super bright. Enough to see but not enough to blind ya.
