Noted... I hadn't planned on it.. Maybe just carry the subtle 5.9 from the dash over to the fenders.... Maybe...
 
so my axle code is a C5..... 4:10's.....

I'd be ok bumping up to a 35 with those as opposed to regearing...

it looks like if I want 4:10's in a 99-04 I'd have to get em from a dually 350 rig... code F2... as everything else comes with 3:73's apparently, including SRW 350's.....

V10 super dutys got 4:30 gears and probably V8 gassers too. My '99 F350 dually has 4:10 gears since it has the camper package. I've only seen one 6.0L '04 super duty with 4:10 gears and it was also a dually.

Guessing someone is getting ready to do some blasting.


well, not per se... but I could do the ds rims at any point in time... just a little project i was trying to get to before going back to work next week... get the sand I bought ready for blasting when i get around to the rims, and other projects...

just been driving and really enjoying this truck thru the winter... addressing some driver door issues currently.... the sheetmetal had ripped where the inner door handle was attached.. and my boss did a hokey, "just throw a big washer on the backside" fix, that was getting real sloppy and difficult to open the door... so, found that, welded a backer plate, etc and got that stout again...

but i do need to address the outer door handle now.. it barely opens the door and only actuates it the very last bit... i think it's in the back of the handle... so i may order a new one and see if that takes care of it... the one question i'm trying to figure out is should i go with the black handle from Jeff's... which is in keeping with the new theme..


but it does say at the bottom "Handle works better with original mechanism in handle." it does say OEM # E2TZ-1022405-A, F3TZ-1522405-A

and is $30..... if it's OEM, why wouldn't it have "the original mechanism".....


whereas, the chrome version is $18.. and doesn't have that disclaimer at the bottom... which may just be on the admins poor web work...



think i'll just go for the black one and keep my fingers x'd...


also need to figure out why the ps window doesn't work.. haven't looked but I'm guessing the motor is prolly bad as it doesn't work on either switch... Kai will appreciate that.... he loves the truck tho... ;)
 
just popped for both handles in black and a new motor for the ps window... almost bought a new rear tank, but I'll wait till that shackle hangar fails, or sometime during the summer maybe...
 
got the final bodywork done on the fender/door of the ds yesterday and primed... I'm hoping to get the ds caught up to the ps and paint done on that side by monday when I go back to work... see how the weather goes....

hopefully door parts come in tomorrow and I can play with that stuff on the weekend too...


ran the rig about 150 miles today.... really dig running the dizzle...
 
well, todays was one for that "fug up" thread... I had a questionable amount of materials to shoot the ds of the fUrd... probably enough base, but barely enough clear hardener...

decided to go for it.. spent the couple hrs prepping it and masking... go to shoot base, run a couple coats thru the detail gun.... go to load the other 1/2 of the base into the gun... and drop the qrt can on the floor..... :angry1:


sooooo.. the side is somewhat based.... gonna go on monday and pick up another qrt of base.. i would have needed some more for the tailgate anyway... and more hardener for the clear... I need a qrt of 2k hardener too while I'm there.. so hopefully next weekend after my first week back at work, i'll have some decent weather to finish the paint work... figure i'll mask it, run over it super light with a scuffpad, wash it down, and rshoot some more base over it...

but tomorrow I'm gonna see about getting the 2 new black door handles in and ps motor...
 
got more paint today....

didn't do any more on the doors.. figures 2 days before going back to work, I really shredded my shoulder sleeping saturday... it was reasonable all winter, now it's all fugged up...

anyway, hopefully sat or sun will be a good day to get back to painting or door work at least...
 
You know you're getting to old when normal everyday things like sneezing, farting and sleeping too hard take days of recovery..


well, as I bitched about back in the fall, I knew this was coming, rotator cuffs don't fix themselves... It had been just kind of maintaining all winter, no better or worse, but i definitely tweaked it during a nightmare thrashfest....
