I've always done the razor knife X till it's thru, than trim as needed...
Do you use any kind of glue or will it stay put?
I've never used glue... door trim, seat mounts, shifter rings, etc hold it fine usually in my experiences..
Your opinion: Wait till I put down dynamat or not?

MY opinion is that i would dynomat. Especially in all the strange spots. Like under the dash, the back side of the dash, everywhere in the doors, in the walls of the "bed", etc.
Just a quick fitting....and the "hump" is loose....there is quite a bit of space that I can push down over the entire hump....is there supposed to be some thick insulation there?

I got to drop the steering column and spray it before I set the carpet in....got some under and behind dash blacking to do too...
Definitely do dynamat. Its definitely worth while

No there is not supposed to be any thick insulation on the hump. I would venture to bet it would just take a while for the new carpet to lay right.
trimming the sides to fit will help in taking up some of the extra hump material.. work it out from the middle to the sides...
The sides up front have this nice binder around the edges...it would mean cutting those off....should I do that?
eh, you'll have to make that call on how much extra material there is.. the carpets I've bought always needed to be trimmed around the perimeter...

I'll let that lay in there until I get the dynamat....I am debating whether or not to Dynamat the whole bed....
I used 2 dynamat bulk packs doing my firewall and cab floor. I have to get another to do my doors still. I'd say for you 3 to do the whole front cab area including the doors and probably at least 4 to do the bed area, bed sides, and tailgate. That's not cheap... I recommend going on Amazon or eBay to find the best prices (literally almost half of what Eastwood charges)
On a lot of panels you don't even have to have full coverage to dampen the sound. Things like doors, firewall, bedsides.

It's a little late for me to be doing the firewall, so that is out, and I already put a square in each door and that's all it took. So I just have to do the floor areas...I am mixed on covering the tubs...I am not sure that those carpet coverings are intended to be permanent and that would be real ugly to have shiny silver tubs...and I read somewhere that rubberized undercoat in your tailgate works just as good as Dynamat
