Been plugging away all week at night. Today my buddy came over and helped me.
Threw the coil the coil brackets and coils on last night.
Also got my fire wall, cowl, and inside of the fenders shot in flat black.
Inner fenders and core support will be semi gloss. As will the booster, clutch master, and hood hinges. I also got a new set of cab mounts in and my tubular control arms. I figured I would do them while the motor was out just to make it easier. So I also picked up new front calipers to paint black. $30 just isnt worth cleaning up the old ones lol.
Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to be redoing my trans crossmember... I'll probably save the inner trans mount piece but the cutouts from the SBC headers dont line up with the new headers at all...
Which I happened to have found out because this happened!

All set in place. Super low and slammed back. The motor was only in to mock up the motor mounts which I got done.
I then pulled it back out. Need to notch my crossmember in some spots and box out the tall side of the motor mounts. The motor landed a mile away from where I thought it was going to. The LS motor mount bosses are a mile back compared to the SBC which explains why all the after market ones are super long sliders. For a second I thought I was going to have to pull it out, notch the drivers side crossmember and stick it back in but I made it work and will notch it around the mounts now.
Im pretty excited. The harness is going to get shipped out soon and the trans sent out for a rebuild. The wife also gave me the OK to get the truck painted rather than plastidipping it. Im still going to do trim and stripes in plastidip though.
