SUPER SEALER trailer build . . TANKER trailer's and now service bed ....

Got my swivel wheel kit for the front of the blower today . WOW what an improvment in user comfort using it now . The front wheel can lock straight and or unlock for 360* movement.

Then i was able finish the hook system to secure it down like the tar buggy .

i saw a little trick years ago on doing it with ZERO burn out .

weld the puddle on the surface and then dab in/out of the expanded and it will flow in great and unless you hang out to long you get no burn threw .

Did a test pull around the block today . . . She tows like a dream atleast for a full block . Didnt hardly know it was back there .

Was able to do a timed test for the rear gate and equipment unload and load test 1 man . I can get them unstrapped and gate down and both off in around 45 sec . Then i can reload strap crank and pin gate in about 2 min . This design worked out so good .

Got my road cone place figured out today also . There is 15 of the 18" tall cones there . And the front trailer jack is bonus point for 5 cones we will use every day for traffic control on each site.

The trailer is hanging in the air now to finish a few welds on the bottom side . It has a engine hoist on the tounge and trans jack under the back for extra security . And i have a helper in the shop these past few days .

Finished up a few welds this morning on the underside . I loked the top of the rail expanded metal so i added it to the rest of the rails .

Finishing fine details . Had to replace the tank lift jack . It blew up and died . But no biggy as it was a free one i had got . So i went and got a brand new 3,500 lbs jack and now she cranks like butter on a hot knife .

Started the lighting and wire layout . Got a solid plan and cant wait for a test light off as i am doing a little different layout . I got a 2 wire to 3 wire converter box so i can have specific brake / tail / turn light combo . I did swap the white backup for amber for the turns .

takes the brake & turn of a 2 wire system and splits it for a brake / turn separate 3 wire system .

under 30 bucks from curt hitches . part #56196 https://www.curtmfg.com/part/56196

----------------------------

yesterday half day and the rest today i have been building the complete wiring system for this trailer from the pre-molded plug and 8ft wire and junction box / break away switch / battery for break away / main wire to rear 2nd junction box / both sup harnesses for lights / break wires to junction box . lots of work but its all clean & secure & 100% sealed ground / isolated in the wiring . . . NO direct frame ground .

got it wired for lights today and did a test run .

i have :

tail lights and side markers = CHECK
brake lights = CHECK
left & right turn = CHECK

but if i do brake and a specific turn together i get 1-2 slow turns then no turn after until i let off the brake . also the 4 way dosnt do the amber bulbs it does the brake / tail red's i think thats the way the truck is wired tho .

i fired off a tech support email to curt on this and hope to here back monday or tuesday .

so i need to go back to normal lighting system on the trailer for now .

i talked with curt on the phone 2 times today . the first tech guy had no clue and or didnt even know the product i was talking about . the 2nd guy was super smart and understood exactly what i wanted to do and he had tried it before and it was a no go for him also . he did say there was options out there but wasnt 100% sure who had them and if they would work .

so to get this thing rolling i am going back to std bulb setup wiring for now .

@mrk5

so today i swapped the lights out for 4 led units / flip flopped the wires around for normal function / removed the shit box unit that wont work / started doing electric brake wires and front and rear side / corner markers . i have almost all items checked off this list from my state DMV page on required items .

once its all wired and tested i need to paint it and reflective sticker it . after that i need to do this page for trailers OVER 1,000 LBS empty to file for a homemade title and state provided vin# they put on .

if it all passes after that then its just a registration and plate fee and get rolling down the road .

Did the 6" x 6" white and red dot reflective tape today .

Then i went to the dmv to get the 4part carbon copy form you cant print off line to let me start my vin# prossess going . Then i had to dig out my paper work for all parts to build the trailer . The stack is about 2" thick for all bill invoices for when they ask .

Ii don't produce everything.
The more you give them the more they tax you.

Checked the other day and dmv section i need is about 2weeks behind on paper work prossess time . She is ready to go to the inspection site just need the time & date.

:angry1: state DMV has me pissed off today . . . sent my trailer paper work back for vin # application cause i was missing 1 form . i tryed 7-8 times before hand to get them on the phone before i sent it all out and make sure i had it all first time but no answers or returns of calls . and the local DMV offices have zero clue on how to do custom vin# stuff like this as its all threw the main office in the capitol .

mother f*ckers had my phone # as they sad we need it to ask you questions or get in contact with you but they never called me 1 dam time the lazy bas*ards .

there is no cheat sheet form to show you exactly what you need to have . you have to basicly just wing it unless you have done it before or know someone who has .

Re read there vin aplication form 3x and no were does it ask for a weight slip to get a vin # inspection appointment. And on the form it show to read the vs-105 and here is the spot showing when they want the weight slip AFTER THE VIN FORM AND # ARE COMPLETED .

They just set me back 2 more weeks . . .

That's one thing they have good in California, perfect checklist for stuff like this, and yes they require a weight ticket with the paperwork before give you a vin
