SUPER SEALER trailer build . . TANKER trailer's and now service bed ....

:angry1: state DMV has me pissed off today . . . sent my trailer paper work back for vin # application cause i was missing 1 form . i tryed 7-8 times before hand to get them on the phone before i sent it all out and make sure i had it all first time but no answers or returns of calls . and the local DMV offices have zero clue on how to do custom vin# stuff like this as its all threw the main office in the capitol .

mother f*ckers had my phone # as they sad we need it to ask you questions or get in contact with you but they never called me 1 dam time the lazy bas*ards .

there is no cheat sheet form to show you exactly what you need to have . you have to basicly just wing it unless you have done it before or know someone who has .

Last couple of times I've had to deal w/ the 'dmv' I've had better luck dealing w/ the independent 3rd party companies. Not sure if you have those there or not but for me the couple of dollars extra I pay is more than worth it.

We always joke that if you don't like the answer you get from the DMV, hang up and call back in 15 minutes. You'll get a different person and a different answer.

Trailer minus tank and tar melter is 2,300 lbs .

Melter is 110 lbs . So tank minus 2" plumbing is around 1,150 lbs .

Had a friend tank trailer and get certified weight slip today as i was working . Got to send out the papers again for round #2 .

Got my transport papers and apt date and time in the mail today to go get checked out for getting my vin # . :woot:

So i rolled the dice today and it come up lucky #7 both times .

Got my vin# sticker no problems . The 2 guys said they wished more trailers were built as nice as mine was :deal:

Next was dropping off paper work at local dmv office to get my title / plate / yearly reg sticker . Got them dropped by around 1:30pm . . Got a call by 2:55pm all done come and get your stuff by 4pm or its next day to get it . I hopped in the truck a 2nd time and got there by 3:35pm .

I have a appointment tomorrow for the reg trailer inspection to be done . Once i get that sticker i am 100% legal to use my new custom built by ME trailer :saweet:

Looks really nice man, glad you made it through all the red tape B.S....

She got used the other day for her first full day and did 6 driveways .

Super happy with layout of thd parts and even with a half full tank its hardly wanting to wander all over like the old smaller trailer ALWAYS did . .

Cant wait to build the new transport / bulk storage only trailer and put the 500 gal tank on it and get it off the old worn out early 80's dodge flatbed .

Little breakage found today . . . Wasnt my work that broke . . . It was 2 owners ago crap welds that let go . . Glad it didnt pop open and spill 450 gal of sealer all over . .

Tank was saved from my 2 safety pins up front . . Easy fix and beef up .

Oh we fixed it now . Tie in support plate in the rear were it let go and ground out the crapy weld they did before .

Then each side got feet to support the middle of the tank area to help take the load off each end .

Lets try this again .

so after doing lots of HOT tar work we ( joe & my self ) said we need the hot tar melter to tip thats on the right front of the trailer to help clean outs .

so i ordered up some HD hinges with grease fittings and a spring latch for when its in the lock position . this will let us tip the box to drain out 99% of the hot tar for helping in later clean outs you HAVE TO DO and make our life better .

pics to come but a simple mod no the less .

Going in the AM to check over and buy a dump trailer with a rusted out box but 4 new tires and battery with working NAME BRAND hydro pump . Its priced less than what i can buy the axles and wheel tires for .

Plan if we drag it home is cut up the box . Swap the hydro ram for a shorter one . Install 1 of the 2 new to us tanks we got this summer . Then its a bulk sealer hauler trailer .

Drug this home this morning .

Its almost new from 2008 but the original owner left stuff in it for LONG periods of time and it let the sides and floor rust out super fast .

Plan it ditch the box and install a sealer tank . Then its done as i only need this one for a tanker not full on work unit .

So weird being from my neck of the woods (or lack of woods) seeing moss growing on vehicles/trailers.

That moss will bite in and grow in all sorts of stuff . . .

Seen some come off easy and if it stays to long you can pull up blacktop when you try and remove it with a pressure washer .

Stuff is tuff to deal with thats for sure .

edit for crazy weird spelling mix up from my phone :dunno:

Less than 1hr and i have popped it apart this far and took a air hammer with a button head to the floor . I have 2 5gal buckets of rust on the shop floor now .

This is all from the original owner leaving crap in it to hold water for long periods of time.

What a shame they did this . . But there loss my gain .

Bug up my butt after dinner . . . Plasma make easy work of the rest of the dump box . It was to thin and even blown out from ice were water got in and expanded in the winter .

She sure is getting a 525gal tank now over keeping it a dump trailer .

Took some HEAT to the hydro ram pins today along with the air hammer and got the ram off .

Then i dug out the 525 gal tank and set it on the frame for its first test fit .

It come out good size to frame . But i knew it would need to be set down in . And a few measurements show i can drop it 14-16" down in .

Should make a NICE tanker only trailer .

picked this puppy up the other day . its lightly used from a spray rig for sealer work but should clean up just nice . it will hold up to 175 feet of 3/4" hose .

the plan is to use a graco fireball style air over pump to feed me sealer threw this unit and keep us from having to use buckets all day as much . this length of hose would get us in to 90-95% of the driveway jobs we work on day to day . only going to pump the sealer and NOT spray .

Scored some axles with wheel and tire package deal on all of it .

5 torsion axles and 1 little trailer . Extra wheels and tires for the flat ones . 4 name brand drop leg jacks .

Clean out time the last 2 days with single digit temps at night to freeze it .

these were 2 tanks we got in a deal used . they were heavy sand mix sealer inside and this makes it harder to get out when cured up . but joe knows tricks so he was in there working his magic .

the 1 tank now its about clean is looking like its about brand new with maybe not even 1 season on it . this size tank new is 5,000.00 . :doah:

letting it get REAL COLD and then popping it out is the best method otherwise your fighting it all the way . and if time will let you mid season drain the tank 100% before refill and pressure wash it 1 time . then at the end of the season wash it again .
