heres a little better pic you can see more of the ford and a few other toys of mine except I don't have the little black bobber anymore.

I assume its mostly a dune truck?

Ditch weight. As much as you can.

Get rid of the bed. Get tube on it. Mostly to stiffen up the frame. Makes the suspension work better overall.

Airbumps, good shocks.

You don't really need the tons unless you are going to a bigger tire. But you do need a better rear end. But I am a fan of a bigger tire so in my brain you need tons

Take some lift off of it trim the crap out of the fenders

Yes it will mainly be a dune truck with some light wheeling around my house. Manistee national forest is right behind my house so several seasonal roads, two tracks, and snowmobile trails to play on but nothing to extreme. I would eventually like to go bigger tires but yes I want 1 tons before I go any bigger. But as stated earlier I have some cobble jobs to fix and take care of before I get into axle swaps, interior, and exterior stuff. The more stuff I fix the more stuff I find that just makes me go WHY!!!:doah: so far the worst things I have found on the truck. 4" pipe body lift, brand new aluminum radiator zip tied to the core support, and The gobs of wiring going to all the aftermarket gauges... That don't work haha

Well I got a little more done tonight. I original was going to just swap in the lights and grille fom the truggy into my existing core support but after looking at the springs and screws and little plastic clips holding the lights in, that it would be too big of a hassle soooo I just swapped out the whole core support. Got the new one all back in just need to find some light bezel trim pieces and take the light hook ups off the truggy and wire them into my wire harness because previous owner has them all cut off and are missing

Next on the list is build some supports for that pretty allminum radiator. Zip ties don't cut it haha

It will get a Chevy grille eventually. Just the gmc one was laying around and free so for now it's better than just a core support

Alright it's just a little update as to what has been going on with the truck the last week or so.

I picked up a 94 silverado from a buddy to take the serpentine setup off of and get rid of the flex fan and v belt set up right now. Tore into Sunday I think and stared the swap. I've got everything switched over now just have to do some wiring. Also was working on mounting shrouds around fan and realized that wouldnt work due to the huge body lift still on the truck so I am going to be hooking up some electric fans I think. Have a few laying around I think.

Swapped all brackets, alternator, power steering pump, crank pulleys, and put on ac bypass pulley

What I started with. Not the greatest pic but only one before I tore it apart:

And her is what I got now:

Now what I am stuck with and could use some help. Wiring the alternator. The old alternator and the new alt have two different connectors. Old alt had two wires running to it. A brown and red wire. The new alt connector only has one brown wire running to it. Do I just need to connect the brown wires??? What do I do:dunno: also noted on the k10 the alternator had a wire going from negative on battery to a stud on the back of alt. the 94 silberado had the same wire going from the stud on the alt but going to the positive on the battery?

Here's a pic of the old and new connectors. I need to use the black one with one brown wire coming out of it.

Can you swap pullys on the alternators and use the original alternator and plug? Also look into the windstar fan mod. They are aparently the best to fit on these if you go all electric.

You want the new alternator. I can't remember how you wire that up, but I did it on my 1988 V10 Suburban. i just found the answer on the internet somewhere.

As for the wire on the stud on the back of the alternator, it always goes to the positive terminal of the battery. That is how the alternator charges the battery.

Did you install a reverse rotation water pump?

I thought that was wrong when I looked at it hooked up to the negative. That could have been my mistake I had the batter out and could have hooked it up wrong. :doah:

As far as the alt I want the newer style with the seep pulley on it because if the alt goes out I don't want to deal with swapping the pulley every time. I'll have to do some more looking then on wiring.

Oh and yes I did use a reverse water pump. I took the one off the truck I got the serp system from.
