What Now

yeah Nate deff. doesnt know where he is going with it he changes his mind on what he is going to do with that truck more then a WOMEN changes there clothes!!!!!

Well thanks To my sister smashing the frot of her car I've got me some paint for the truck haha. I'm painting a new front clip for her 03 cavalier and it is arrival blue. A factory Chevy color. So spent $315 on some sealer, clear and the paint. A quart of this stuff is $175 for the good DuPont stuff. You can get the crappy nason stuff for $45. I got a quart tho so I'd have plenty extra to paint the k10. Before I shot my sisters car I wanted to do a trial run so I got out a spare hood I had for the k10 and it turned out awesome. I also added some rosetta red pearl and white pearl flake to the clear and this thing sparkles like crazy. I need to fix more things on the truck before I consider painting it but can't wait to get it in the booth and shooting this paint on it.

The hood I had laying around. Sanded down with 220 grit. Then 360. Then 400 grit.

Shot 4 coats of clear. Had a little orange peel so wet sanded down shot 2 more costs of clear. This pic is before I shot the last cost of clear with the pearl flake in it.

Shot last cost of clear with flake in it. It's so shiny and clear you can see the Chevy symbol painted up on the wall. This thing is like glass. And I haven't buffed it yet even.

Well finally found a starter that fits the truck and starts it without grinding the teeth. Had to get one off a 94 silverado so with that problem solved started making some radiator braces for my aluminum radiator and this is what me and Deuling came up with.

Used a piece of c channel and a piece of rubber that goes over the too welded to a piece of angle that bolts to the factory holes. Finn bring them into work and grind the edges smooth yet and the blast them and paint them to make them look better. But there super solid. Can push on the radiator and the whole truck moves so that radiator isn't going anywhere:thumb:

My lady even came over and laid some beads down on the brackets:thumb:

Ordered this procomp fan setup tonight. Two 10" fans and comes with wiring harness and relay. Not gonna use the zip mounts that come with it. Plan on building some sort of frame that the two fans can bolt two and then can bolt the whole unit on behind the radiator.

If that setup works good, i may have to try it. Was that the cheap one?

This is a different one I found last night but I liked it more but yah this one I got for $55 off amazon. I didn't think that was bad for all new stuff so we will see how it does.

Well new fans showed up today and for $55 I'm impressed. Pretty heavy duty frame and fan blade. I was expecting it to be a little on the chincy side but looks good. They'll have to wait to go on tho because I'm headed to Texas to see my mom for Christmas for a week. Leaving tomorrow for 7 days. But I have 2 weeks off from work so I hope to knock out a lot of projects on the truck as soon as I get home from Tx.

Here's a shot of the fans and wiring harness.

Also I pulled the k10 outside to park it while I'm gone and figured this was a good shot of a 1/3 of the trucks we have here haha

My Ferd and k10 in the back and deulings blazer. That's finally fixed. Took him long enough :haha:

Now the hunt for lottttts of parts :doah:

8" front springs? You can pull a bottom leaf or two and it'll ride a lot better, unless you're going for the height.

12" front springs :thumb: I know it won't be smooth. That's not really what I'm going for with this truck. I have two other trucks for that. Ive just always wanted a huge truck. And I think it's time to build one.

I'm drawing inspiration from 82k10SBC AND THRILLBILLIES trucks. I've always liked their trucks so time to get on their level :D :haha:

You should search through our dune pics, might be able to find the truck those came from in one.

They look a little flat to be 12", but I might just be losing it. What size tire do you plan on running?

I think it's just the angle the picture was taken at cause they do look flatter in the pic. But they are 12" springs. And I'm not sure yet on tires. Maybe 46" military take offs:dunno: I will cross that bridge once I get there.
