Anti sieze
I did take a few more pictures yesterday that I never got posted. Here's the back of the timing cover. cleaned up. The bolts were pressed into the back of it, I'm thinking that they shimmed the pump, torqued it down, put the cover on with the bolts barely started, went to go grab the loctite and got distracted. I think the timing cover was bolted on with all the pump cover bolts barely engaged, just like I found them.
New pump shimmed and installed with everything torqued and loctited as appropriate.
Yep, this was assembled by a person, people make mistakes, I'm glad they owned up to it and made it right. They even mentioned that they were going to change their process to make sure this doesn't happen again. That's totally what they. It happens, always sucks when it happens to you, but I know I've done shit like that. All it takes is the phone ringing or some other garbage to happen.
Yes, I try not to get mad when people make mistakes. It only gets me mad when they won't own up to it.hey this way you know the engine a little better too. And just chalk your mistake to “tuition “
We’ve all done it.
