1972 GMC K5 then and now

I ended up bending my passenger side header on goldbar so it wouldn't seal properly on cylinder 8. After getting home I parked the Jimmy and didn't use it much for about a year.
2014 I got sick of seeing the truck just sitting and started to get things going again. bought a new set of headers and swapped out carbs. The Truck Avenger just wasn't cutting it, stalling, stumbling. I had a friend rebuild a quadrajet a few years back and set it up for offroad. Boy did it make a difference.
Also about the same time I decided to build a tire carrier so I could use my interior and do some camping.

I decided to try and use what I had and just build off it. Sort of worked but would have been weak and to far out from the body.

After that attempt, I changed up the design a bit. It turned out ok and I like it but will likely change it again soon. Bumper Carrier v2

New shackles from DIY4X came in to replace the deteriorated stock shackles.

October 2014 took the family to Moab for some camping and wheeling fun.

The end of 2014 My ex and I called it quits freeing up a lot of time I could devote to projects.
I capped off my tire carrier and decided to open up my garage so I could properly use it.

I also built a work bench for the new work space.

updates and upgrades from 2015 started with painting the grill and making a new gauge cluster.

Its definitely a luxury, but in a lifted truck its really a necessity.

Summer 2015 and Utah is great for convertibles.

September 2015 I was wanting to add to the tire carrier, so some side bars were added.

Also around the same time a package arrive.

My sister and nephew were in town and stopped by to visit. They caught me in the middle of a tune up and my nephew decided he wanted to help.
My sister is a photographer and so couldn't help snapping a few pics.

I'd say these needed to be replaced.

Thanks, softtopper really makes a good product. I was surprised by how well it fits and is a total improvement to the hard top.

October 2015 Planned a trip with The_Blaze to Moab but he ended up having engine issues so like any good friend, I went anyways.
Packed up a few friends and my trailer and headed out. I'd never really towed with the Jimmy but it did great.

We got settled in and decided to go explore a bit at night.

The next morning we hit Fins n Things just for fun since we were by ourselves.

After running Fins I tried Baby Lions Back. I'd never been on it so I figured why not.
