Seems to handle slightly better, fighting a steering adjustment issue at the moment. Too early to tell what the shock position changed, if anything...
 
I ran mine more upright like yours. Never made much sense to put them on a 45 like some do.......
 
My issue is that I bought 14 inch travel shocks and I flat out don't need that much. I'm trying to get them as straight up and down as possible without using them as bumpstops.

I have a similar problem with 15" travel shocks. I angled my shocks forward. I've figured out I can drop back to 12" travel shocks they they will fit vertical if I put the lower mounts flush with the bottom of the axle.
 
The more vertical you run them the better they will work and the better the ride. Also the farther out they are mounted the more stable the ride. Or so I have found. When they are angled way in to make up for mounting constrictions then they don't work very well. Mine are all the way out by the brakes and almost vertical and I can max out a 12" travel shock no problem without bumpstops and straps. I should have modified for a 14" travel shock and I could flex more but I will just do bumps and straps to keep my shocks happy.

What kind of flasher did you buy and where did you get it?

It was an electronic version of the factory thermal style. plug and play, they run about 10 bucks and should be on the shelf at any parts store or truck stop.

The thermal ones used factory won't receive enough load from the LED bulbs to heat the bi-metallic strip.

Thanks, I was having a mental block on this and I have been looking for a flasher to wire inline of my lights. Didn't occur to me to replace the factory one.
