Charcoal canisters, with proper vacuum plumbing to the motor, but I guess that still doesn't mean they are venting like they should...

I only ask because I had a similar problem, and it wasn't until the trail slowed down and the truck got a little hotter with ambient temps around 90-95. We stopped for a piss break and the truck wouldn't refire, pump was loud so I removed the gas cap and it let out a solid stream of air for over 20 seconds. Guess my cap was not vented after all. Also, the line from the tank vent was plugged in the bed so I removed the plug and left it open. 10 minutes later the truck fired and never had a problem again.

My tank was plugged when I got it too.

Took awhile to figure it out. Ended up hooking it back up to a factory replacement charcoal canister. Works fine just like stock basically.

for safety reasons I'll probably end up running a charcoal canister too.

I hadn't even consiered that it could be tank venting problem. But at the same time, one would think that the likelyhood of both tanks either pressurizing or developing vacuum would be small. Maybe I'll just mount my TBI burb tank...

the problem is the line between the selector valve and the throttle body has likely already vapor locked so switching tanks won't help.

Would have interesting to know if you cracked the line and it started to pump.
