Anything older than 1976 model year has no emissions testing required. Anyhting 1976 to 32 years old (with collector plates) need to pass emissions every five years, to renew plates, unless you were grandfathered in.
Anything with standard plates 1976 tp 1981 model years get yearly testing.
Anything with standard plates 1982 model and up get tested every two years, except for some of this new stuff that is emissions exempt.
Of course, if you are in a non-emissions county, than lucky you, and kindly f off...
