FWIW I have a 12 bolt under my '90 right now with 35's. it's my short term diff so it stays driveable until I'm ready for the 60/14 to go in.

The 12 bolt will be a short term thing for this truck too. A 14 bolt sf, 6 lug will eventually find its way under the truck. But for now its a cheap way to regear.
The bonus here too is that I have found 14 sf 6 lugs local with 4.10s
Okay so plans changed I found a set of 10 bolts that had been regeard to 4.56, or so the guy says. I actually think they are 4.10s but haven't drained the oil out of em yet to look at the pinion gear and count the teeth. They are definitely aftermarket gears though.
So instead of a 12b and 10b geared to 4.10 I will have 2 10 bolts geared to 4.56.
Sooner than later I would like to run 37s so this gearing will work out better. It will be a while though I will run the tires I have down.
You know eventually you are going to stuff a 60/14b combo in there... and there's no time like the presentJust messing man, but if I were a betting man I'd say within the next 5 years that thing with have tons and 40s at least...

I thought you had something good going with the plan to have the the 14BSF and 4.10s. Good gear ratio for the 35s and it keeps with the road worthy platform.
Nice K5 for a build by the way. There seems to be a growing appreciation for the 89 K5 Silverado Diesel around here.
That is still the long term plan, hoping to have the SF axle in there by mid summer,
Later it will get an ARB will probably leave the front open for some time.
I don't mind trading a little road speed for the 4.56s and the 35s for now either.
Have really enjoyed driving a lifted truck around.
Winter time means I am not really doing alot to it.
I did get a set of manual hubs last weekend and I may put a smittybilt cage in it. Going to test fit it after I get it up here and see if I like it or not.
35s + OD + 4.56s = Good. Especially after having a M1008, that combo sounds heaven sent in a diesel.

Cool Eric, garage warm yet?
