oh snap! lol!

I've been thinking about that too, but I probably won't go that far with it.

The soft top I have I usually run in 'safari' mode with the sides rolled up. I'm actually planning on having a canvas shop cut the sides off of it and install zippers instead. The problem with rolling them up is that they get condensation and rain water in there and the windows get trashed. I wanna try having them zip off so that I can stow them in a bag or something and keep them nicer, longer.

that sounds like a good plan, then if, while towing they weren't 75mph friendly, they could be taken off and secured, instead of beating the hell out of everything while your not paying attn to your towload!

No truck progress to report but I did manage to get up to the lake.

No matter what other problems the blazer may have the convertible truck is always popular with the kids. :thumb:

I like what you did with the top I might half to do that since im to poor to afford a soft top
I have to say it's worked out a lot better than I expected. I haven't put the soft top back on yet this year. It keeps the sun off but still open enough for plenty of air, plus it's quieter than a soft top in the same configuration would be (although not as easy to pull off).

I bought a half top I don't like it much and really like your idea and it looks beast

thanks man. I cut it specifically to give the back seat some shade too.

One of these days we should get together and check out the rigs. :waytogo:

Got the engine pulled tonight. Crane worked out fantastic! plenty tall enough to clear the fenders.

Unfortunately, so far the engine is dirty as hell, but nothing screams "this is your oil leak".

The last shot is up at the rear main seal. It's as dirty as everything else, but I don't think that is where the leak is coming from.

There is a lot of seapage everywhere (especially around the fuel pump), but nothing jumps out as the source of all the oil that is coating the underside of my truck along the drivers side. :dunno:

Would it be worth pulling the dist and trying to spin the oil pump to see if I can find it that way?

No expert or anything and correct me if im wrong but what I would do is spray down and clean the engine from oil dry it and wait overnight and you might find a the leak coming from somewhere. but I could and probably am wrong about it. :dunno:

yeah, I'm going to clean it up good this evening, but it doesn't leak just sitting there so I don't know if that will reveal anything.

I'm wondering if spinning the oil pump would help any. :dunno:

Looks wettest around the adapter for your oil pressure line. I'd bet that's your guy. Looks like the intake is seeping, and maybe the gasket around the distributor, but I have a feeling your drip is coming from there. I'd clean it up, plug the other end of that little line that goes to the oil pressure gauge and spin the oil pump and see what happens.

any advice on the best way to spin the oil pump? never done it before. :)

Get a oil pump primer. It's like $18 and goes down in the distributor hole and you spin it with a drill.
