major setback
I got the blazer registered today so I took it out for a bit this evening. A bit of good news first. It seems to run very well. It most certainly has more power than my old carb'd 383. Also, my speedometer actually is working. I drove around quite a bit and noticed that my odometer had actually gone up a few miles. After careful observation at 50mph+ I noticed that the speedo was reading a couple of miles per hour so it is working just need to adjust the programming to the right pulse rate.
Now on to the bad news...
It's hard to tell from the pic but that is the back of the drivers side head and I'm pretty sure it's leaking oil.
For as little driving as I did it was kinda a lot of oil, and I think the passenger side is doing the same thing.
It was late when I got home so I didn't have a chance to do anything but give it a once over and noticed oil on the pan and traced it up to whats shown in the pic. *&%$*#!!

both sides were leaking pretty badly. Once I got the covers off it was obvious that the gaskets were shot.
