Once he starts putting more weight back on it should be just fine.
x2. Wait until you have full weight on the suspension before worrying about shackle angle.

I would totally drive that around the yard as-is.

That's good to hear, but if the axle drops, say hanging in the air, is there a chance the shackle could reverse?
Thanks.
OK Man, now you got me thinking....hook up the XJ shaft to the box, slap a pipe on it for leverage, hook it up to the lawn tractor and away we go...![]()

The shackle is just a pivot point. Worst case you will limit your stretch.
This pic shows what I'm trying to explain....if the tire is hanging in the air, and the shackle is straight, would/could it try to angle the wrong way when weight is put back on the spring?

OH, and a stick on Mirror, with a flat mounting plate huh Eric?![]()

Everyones a comedian
The shackle can invert. Allthough I have only ever inverted my shackles on Horton once and I was really stretched out, not something you are going to have worry about
The rear shackle angle should end up just fine Dave. I wouldn't worry too much about it now
One thing you may want to consider though is moving that front shackle hanger forward some. With just normal lift springs the front shackle ends up being almost straight up and down and that limits droop. I think 3/4 of an inch is what I came up with once but if you search there are some who have done it before. It would be way easy to move right now. Much harder to move later and the extra droop you get will be worth it. It doesn't really change much just the angle of the shackle so no rethinking is needed![]()
