Well dave found the C30 at a motel. I guess he cant get ahold of Erik or something so Idk whats goin on with that. But the maiden looks SEXAY!!!:thumb:

LOL LOL LOL

dude he was sitting on the trailer asking me what he should text you next that particular night, we had some wild stories going:haha::haha::haha::haha:

Yah like a moron I did not check the oil often enough having had a bit of a thrash myself to get to Moab.

Oil in the C-30 and towed all the way back home without a hiccup at all.

And yes the maiden did very well. Dave gets used to that truck and its going to be a very impressive truck. Its capabilities are beyond what Dave is comfortable with right now.

The maiden is an impressive truck, I think the C-30 will eventually get the same treatment as the maiden and the vette got from Dave and we will all be highly jealous

Fun stuff man, fun stuff,

What up Zim

Hey Dustin, I gotta give you kudos man, you made it up Chewy and through Pritchett...awesome achievement man!
I got back home tonight about 9pm, took about 13 hours from Kerts place to mine.
will be glad to sleep in my own bed again.
The Moab trip and the thrash leading up to it was epic for me...I gotta say the first time on a fin (the backbone of a rock formation) was a butt puckering adventure....trying to get up chewy had my heart racing, my nerves frazzled, and my armpits wet....all great things to let you know your living life large...or as Kert would say "crazy big".
Man we had a great time. Hangin out in Moab, with Kert and the boys, and the CK5 gang is the shiznit!

The 99 6.0 did great. averaged about 7.5 for the trip. We got slowed down real good climbing from Rifle, CO up the mountain, and again heading east out of Durango, WY...elevation 8640. I was in 1st and doing about 20mph up that climb...luckily it was cool so the trans temp stayed under 200. Not so coming out of Rifle, we had to pull over to let it cool down once. Overall I'm pretty impressed with what that 6.0 will do with 3.73's in it.

Kert asked me what I would change now that I have wheeled and driven it...first up beadlocks to air down those tires. I got down to 10-12 when I tried Potato salad hill, but mostly drove with 20# in them for fear of popping a bead. Talking with Kert about a set of those right now.
Second up is hydro assist. Many times on the trail I was stuck, unable to turn with the tires bound up, and also the death wobble was helped but came back with a vengance....hydro will cure that, so I'll be doing that too over the winter.

I can't remember and it's too late for me to go dig though...thought you had Staun internals?

Thanks for the ride Zim! I'd ride with you again anytime.

Man we had a blast overall didn't we?
BB13 here we come again!

Nothing in em AJ...I thought about Stauns, a couple guys there said they have had a lot of problems with em. I'm getting a set of recentered 8 bolt H1's from DIY4X....just need to work on a custom center design for the wheels.

Huh...now I'm trying to think who it was put a set of Stauns on recently?

Just a thought but can they do the centers sorta ovalish like your current retro wheels?

I had an awesome time Dave. Really liked our approach for the week. Kinda laid back and not rushed for much of anything.

The standard design I said I'd get you a picture of.

For you guys that have followed Dave's build thread but haven't visited the picture threads in the Blazer bash forum, I just have to post these up.

Here ya got this guy, who has a total thrash build for the last month at least and then steps up the pace quite considerably the last couple weeks before Blazer bash. Gets the thing on a trailer, drives it out to my shop and works on it some more.

Manages to get it out to Blazer Bash, another 24 hours of driving so he can wrench on it some more.

Not only wrenching on this one but lets go ahead and get another truck and work on that one too.

Dave my friend, you are a wrenchin' fool! My hat is off to ya.

I gotta say, every time I get a close up pic of the maiden, I'm liking that green more and more. I don't remember if you have a final color picked out already or not, but maybe think about a tarnished copper green to fit your metals theme and still keep the green?

I liked your rig man! Very cool, and quite capable too! I am definitely on the same page with the hydro assist bit... Bloody annoying not being able to turn when I switch my front locker on!

I dunno whats up with everyone and saying I've got every tool out there :D I only had about 800 lbs of tools and spare parts in the back of that thing.... :D

Zim, I had a great time hangen out with you guys for a bit, The Ironmaiden is bad ass:pimp:, your attention to detail is amazing. To see it in real life on the trail was way cool.
Just you wait till you get used to your ride and that thing will go any where you point it.
I cant wait till next year, both of us will get the little bugs worked out of our new builds and kick some Moab ass!

Kert, It was cool to have you ride with me for a bit and talk Chevys, I hope to see you guys next year.

Sorry I missed you guys. I'll be there next year for sure.

I plan on going again to BB12, but will be taking a 6000mi. motorcycle trip around that time, and stopping in for the weekend....hoping to grab a seat with someone while I'm there. Looking forward to meeting you while there. It is a absolute must do on the bucket list!

Huh...now I'm trying to think who it was put a set of Stauns on recently?

Kert has an amazing plasma cutting machine, if its a structurally sound pattern, I'm sure he can come up with stuff that'll blow you away.

Kert does the backside flare out to a full circle that is welded in on the rim? Can you get a shot from the backside of that wheel?
I gotta come up with something unique.

I believe that would be cwazy big!:haha::haha:

Quazy big....it was too funny seeing that dude on a video...with the big panda munching behind him...the side dishes were pretty sweet too!:pimp:

Dave my friend, you are a wrenchin' fool! My hat is off to ya.

Thanks Kert...compared to the last month, this week was a breeze. I too appreciated the laid back schedule we took....in fact I would highly recommend starting a trail at 10 and be done by 5 or 6, to enjoy a little time in town, ya know, eating, browsing around, enjoy a little recreational relaxing time....maybe a beer or two, or twelve?:doah:ouch.

I gotta say, every time I get a close up pic of the maiden, I'm liking that green more and more. I don't remember if you have a final color picked out already or not, but maybe think about a tarnished copper green to fit your metals theme and still keep the green?
It seems to fit it well, and I'm liking it too, it will get some paint, but I'm deciding on whether to go ahead and throw something on this body, and keep wheeling it or to get another one that is rust free (Gus) or do a body swap. I kinda like the idea of not being afraid to bash this one some, if I get a rust free body I might be anal about wheeling it hard. :dunno:

Russell, it was very cool to meet you and Andrew. what an asset to anyone you wheel with, or even hang out in the parking lot with. You are the toolman! The use of your file was invaluable at the time, and much appreciated. It was fun going out on Pritchett with you guys. And Andrew thanks again for running for parts!

Good luck to you guys on prichet today, I'm out of here and headed home with some scenic stops on the way today.

Nice meeting ya:thumb:

Shaun, wish I could have gone on a trail with you guys...by the time we got up to BFE everyone was out already that was going on the trail....probably a good thing though as I don't think that spindle would have taken a whole lot more without trashing the axle housing itself.

I now deem myself, "Zim's Pic B**** ". :pimp:

Thanks again for posting them Adam, give me a PM on how to do that...maybe my phone don't have the capability to post up to the thread?

Thanks dustin, your rig and driving ability is dam good. much more so than me, I just dont have the technique or confidence in myself to make those rock hill climbs....unfortunately not much in MI to practice on either.:dunno:

I take yo text and text it to my email address then to photobucket, then VWALLA!!! Erybody gets to be envious of dave tearin up Moab:pimp: :waytogo:

cool Adam, I'll give that a try....I suck at technology....thats why I still have a stalling carb on the Maiden.
