That will do it. :thumb:

Can I ask what is the purpose of the triple feed?
as Adam said, they are made so at basically any upright angle, it will have a pickup in fuel. the pickups are made like a check valve, so that if the pickup becomes uncovered it will seal itself off and allow another submerged pickup to draw fuel.

Have you seen this setup now so you don't have to use rubber hose to the pickups

Like those alot Matt.... similar to Kerts setup, without the hoses!

Kerts' set up:

I will have a downlow port (like pictured) to feed the external fuel pump,
and need a return port from the fuel injection loop (not sure if high or low is best for this???), and a rollover vent (top)

I'm thinking about ez efi and grooving my 39's, will be learning from your mistakes :thumb:

sweet, hopefully this will go real well, Kert has a proven fuel tank setup, and the EZ-EFI others have done already....although I will be using an external pump instead of internal.

Got the old tank locating brackets cut off the frame today, I will use some locating brackets welded to the skid plate to bolt the gas tank to, so it won't be attached to the frame, but the skid plate obviously will w/ 7 bolts.

Old brackets removed...

and looking to the drivers front side of the framerail..the hole is where the front fuel tank locating crossmember was welded in...

Next up, putting the skid plate in, and taking measurements for fuel tank construction.

:D I'll have to meet up with ya somewhere along the way if possible. I can give you your manifolds back then:thumb:

Yes Rick, I'll be headed through on Thurs, the 21st, thought maybe we could meet up with Tony while in the area....PM on the way!

been discussing tank design with Matt, and would like to make a filler neck on the side of a new tank that would hook up to my existing fuel filler location on the cage, that would allow me to move the tank up closer to the floor....

present filler location.

HPIM3799800x600.jpg

Part of that problem was inadequate venting of the tank while filling it....does a vent line need to be attached to the top of the tank and come up the filler neck to allow proper filling venting....this would be separate from the tank rollover valve and vent system (FATS type).

the problem I have now, I can't fill the tank without it spitting back up the fill tube....filling takes quite a while to accomplish due to inadequate venting. My existing rollover/vent got gas in it, effectively blocking the venting of the tank. I will put a FATS venting in for the tank in case of rollover, but wonder if it would provide filling without problem on a side fill tank....

reworked the fuel tank skid plate mounting today, the frame has a couple of bulges in the rear, for what I don't know, but I cut one of the bulges out that was keeping the skid from sitting level with the frame...

Here you can see how uneven the skid is mounted, and I progressed to cut away the bulge, then made some 1/4" plates to go up inside the frame with a nut welded to them to attach the rear side mounting of the skid plate. That hole will also allow me access to the bumper mounting bolts and the rear body mount bolts.

Had to trim a little off the skid mounting pad as well..

And now it sits flat to the frame and level with the framerails...

Also did some measuring for the new fuel tank....I have intrusions by a couple a couple things that will make the rear of the tank a little odd shaped...the rear support crossmember on the body and a tank locating bracket I welded in for the other tank.

Here are some looks at where the tank will be customized to fit my body/skid plate setup.

Looking toward the rear of the truck....factory body crossmember above (the rusty one)

The body crossmember is about 2.25" forward of my tank locating bracket...

Tank measurement will roughly be 12"H x 26"W x 25"L....with a few mods to the rear of the tank to fit the skid and upper body crossmember.

I plan on mounting the tank to the skidplate but spaced about 1/4" above the skidplate.

I believe there is a formula for figuring out tank capacity, by the measurements of the tank, any one know it?

Length x width x height will give you the cubic inches and then you should be able to use a converter on google it something to find gallons.

I just did it actually and it comes to a little over 33 gallons minus whatever intrusions you're going to have to make it fit in there.

awesome guys, sounds like I'll be able to keep the 454's appetite for fuel happy then!

Good to see you back working on it Dave.

I was talking to my uncle...he said the fast efi was super easy for him to install and it`s Awesome!! You should be very happy with it. :thumb:

Looking good Zim! Hopefully I'll be able to see this thing in June if our pal Dueling can get things worked out
