Live show?
Yea maybe, it depends on how quick the turnaround has to be, what I might try and do is run down there and stay the night so we can stab a trans in the k20. So then he has no excuse..Yep that Dave. The non-building squarebody guy.

Good to know!! I am not that familiar with them. But yea this was pretty beat. You can see where someone already tried to fix that carrier bearing. They put all those dots in it to try and get the bearing to fit again. Didnt work forever. You gotta love a dana 70 to run them. Slang a 14 under it in less time and much less money.
Definitely something to think about. I am betting I would be more into the 9 inch getting it to the same base line as the 70 or 14bolt. I’m a 14bolt guy through and through..I think the stuburban of wreckless wrench is running a 70 and they snapped the pinion last week in Moab. Not sure if the pinion shaft of a 14b would have survived what they did to it in the hot tub, but it does make one think about the strength of a 70.
The way you hammer on stuff I'd just go for the 14b and call it good. It's either that go 40 spline stuff on the 9" and spend a serious amount of money doing so.
True, the nice thing is it’s an excuse to drive up there and its apart already so I’ll know the condition of it prior to even going up there. If it doesn’t make $$$ sense I won’t go. The fuel is 100$ I think there and back.Keep in mind the pick and pull's sell the 14B for $250
It would be a bonus too if you manhandled Dave's transmission in for him while you are there. Since he can't seem to get the ambition get moving on his own.Definitely something to think about. I am gonna sell them to my buddy, and if i have enough cash left over I’ll get 4 methods..Would you have to switch to 5 lug hubs? I assume you would keep your nice rims.
Damn that sucks.. I’m not gonna do a bead lock on this one. They’re such a pita and not worth the headache.. or I haven’t found out how much they’re value is yet lolWe tried to get methods but they didn’t have stock in the ones we wanted. Said we would have to order 100 for them to run them in 8 lug. The forged ones were available though but they were to much $$$ for me.

I finally got the leaks slowed down some but it still is a pain.. also worrying about the bead lock ring bolts coming loose and shearing off was on my mind.. I guess I got lucky..I made the same decision, been running around on 16.5s for 15 years, and it seems like beadlocks are usually leaking air and need topped off. So I thought, if I can get away with running 16.5, surely I should be better off with 17s that actually have safety bead lips inside them. And all the beadlocks added a lot of money and more weight too. If I did rocks at all, I'd probably change my mind...

Lol 20-25 psi mainly to prevent broken parts and we see how well that worked outI was always afraid to go below 8/10 psi before R/F. What do you run on the dunes?

I suppose you could overheat. Baja must be more packed or something too, because I always thought, there is no way you could run 8 or 10 psi in a truck going 100 mph, the tires would blow from the heat build up. I go 70 mph sometimes but it's usually short bursts and then back to 30-50 mph tooling around.
Yah most u4 guys are running 25-30 which I found crazy. The trophy trucks run about 35 psi I think... By the time they get to the pit and change the tire it's around 40-45psi
