I do the same thing, really nice. For the race car I drilled the sleeve and welded everything, tied them to the rear cage as spares.

It was like two for one. Ha

That’s not a bad idea.. a bent tie rod is easy to bend more.. I’m gonna try to make them identical so I can carry one spare with the heims..
 
Alright has to make a swinger height adjustment and got the steering where I want it now. I don’t know if this pic is before I moved it or after, but the fix was to line up the pivots.. I’ll pull this all off, send the design to Laser so it’s all nice and pretty. I’m also going to make the tie rods beefier as well as larger 7/8 heims instead of the 3/4 shank heims.

Strapping it at 17 for now because the back only has 16. I can always put longer straps in when I link the back.

I also started to replumb the brakes. I got the hard lines for the front done. I need to get a few unions for the hard to braided lines, and some adel clamps to hold the line down.
Not bad for a days work.

Do you worry about bending tie rods when they have that bend in them?
These are mock-up, but yea I do actually worry, so 1.5x.250 wall tube is gonna be used and I’ll make the bend as minimal as possible to prevent that from happening.
I got the rear hardline ran and layed in the frame, also built the rear axle hardline. I need to put lock tabs in and some tie points to hold the line to the axle. Then order up some unions so I can connect it all.
