Cool, looks like an awesome place to work and get this done!

I went and got my equal length I beam plate kit from Giant Motorsports, man this stuff is big, 3/16 plate almost 60 inches long.. They build them to allow any lengths.

A closer shot of the filler plates and gussets, I chose to use factory d44 beams.

Here is the front plate.

I also got more aquatinted with the rear axle. A pressure washer made short work of most of the grime. I'll still need to put some elbow grease just a lot less.

The axles, still need to get the bearings and seals to rebuild this axle but that will wait until the beams are done.

Thanks for those good reads. Some of those guys have some amazing fabrication skills. That last guy, went way beyond even greg and designed parts to be undersized because of warpage during welding. Then machined to perfect fit. Class 8 trucks are cool :saweet:

Thanks, I will continue to post these because they're sometimes hard to find, I like to reference stuff others have already done because why reinvent the damn wheel.. Someone already has twice!

Yup. I really like the sway bar made from s10 torsion bars. Might have to steal that idea.

Man, you really know how to hurt a guy.... :D

I'll keep working to step-up my game, but without any CNC equipment close by it's going to be tough to impress you....

That's wasn't a shot at you at all. Just saying the parts you have made have been crazy awesome. I just have not seen anyone measure runout on holes and have tolerances to .001 in a diy garage. Sorry for upsetting you as I did not mean to do that at all.

Carry on

I like shiny stuff, I decided to clean up the 9 inch in preparation for new perches hopefully for spring under axle to keep the ride height down, gives lots more room for spring arch. And it also allows for more bump travel without pushing the lead into a negative arch.

I like working with sheet metal axles so far, I can pickup the housing easy heck the whole shebang isn't really that heavy, I bet there will be a huge difference in the way it feels without the 14 bolt back there.
Still trying to track down the beams, been skimming the Internwebs everyday for deals.. I really don't want to crawl under a truck at the junkyard in 110 degree heat.. But it might come to that in order for me to get a package deal on the beams spindles brakes etc.

I really really want to build a wicked 9".

Everybody here talked me out of it though. :(
