Come over and help me mount these damn things then! They have iron sidewalls.. I'm tempted to take them to a local shop.. I only fear they're gonna jack my wheels up..

Got my order of 4130 .065 to plate in today! Aircraft Spruce hauls the mail!

Punched a bunch of holes, this is how it comes out of the press after using the dimple die.

It's pretty intresting trying to bend this not that it's dimpled, super rigid, and really glad I decided to use the 3/4 punch instead of the 1 inch. The overall space for the larger die woulda put the bend at the edge.

This is the easier of the two.. Just one bend not three..

lol I should bead roll this! I doubt I could form it if I did though! I made sure it had lots of dimples just for @Deuling

You prolly didn't even need to bend the bottom plate.

The dimples do the bending for you!!!

Thanks again guys! And @Deuling is right they just bend on their own.. I'm starting to like this dimple stuff, makes me happy watching that press and popping out these special looking race part styling bad sumbitches

Yes! I hop you have them tigged all pretty.. :D

Dimple porn...

Not much to report, besides that I had to buy a whole new set of studs because the ones I had bought were too short.. image.jpeg
Needless to say I kicked it ass, and all this needs now is the rear axles drilled and turned down so I can slip the rotor over the flange.

Also decided that I like zinc on machined aluminum, I think it adds a bit of contrast..
And yes that many bolts for the bead is a pita..

Got my box of shite also in record time from summit, literally 1 day.. That was cool, along with my other parts showing up at the same time.

So interesting tidbit, I was talking to my offroad parts guy about limit straps, he sells both prp and ass vault(ruffstuff) and he says they're not actually 4 layers like the website says, so he shows me this and mentioned that he's had quite. Few of these break on his racetruck at the eye, says they tear apart??

image.jpeg
It's obvious here that's he's right about the ply count. And you can also see the prp is tighter weave, the materials are different also.
I find this really interesting because the website makes these seem to be the baddest strap in the world.. When you compare it to a known high quality item I am surprised, not saying they're bad, just pointing out they're not as bad as some might think.. Anyways they're still going on the front of my truck so we'll see if one day I gain a magical extra 5 inches of droop., lol boy thats gonna be a surprise.

Did you account for strap stretch? I believe it's 1" for every 12" of strap. I put my class 1 on the ragged edge of cv joint angles and I believe that is what the standard was.

I need to mount them up, at this point I'll be conservative with this because each mfr of strap rates the stretch differently. My mounts up front will not have much tension from the springs so it's mostly the weight of the wheels and beams, but the rear has spring tension so it'll stretch more, but they are shorter. Either way it's going to get adjustments to compensate for it..
