Ya and hope you bounce over the tops to safety. I think the biggest scare I had at night was missing the slight right bend in the road and going 60mph right into a set of 12 to 18 inch MX whoops. 1st hit and I thought the front end was gona rip right off the truck, we went airborne then just a little off kilter and started bouncing side to side before the engine died from no gas to the carb and finally ended up off trail plowing thru open desert until we came to a stop , this with 5 people total in the rig. Thank goodness for 5 point harnesses

Holy crap that’s a pucker moment!! Haven’t been there yet but I am sure it’ll happen soon enough, just a matter of time once I get more comfortable. The truck is fast but it’s not race truck fast. Once I can afford big boy bypasses I’m sure it’ll change everything about it.

Not having run anything like that, but are you a little short in the light dept to be running that speed at night? It just seems like you overcome your field of vision pretty quickly with that truck.

Oh yea we did not have enough light to go that fast. I am guessing the top speed may have been around 70 at the most. But the light situation will likely need to be doubled. Currently it has a 40 inch lightbar and the led headlights. I think at min another pair of HID spots for the long distance throw are required. I think most guys would be in the 4-6 hid range on the race trucks.. I know Rob runs 4 up front and 6 on the rack right now..

I run 7 - 9 inch HID's (3 spots and 4 flood) and 2 - 8 inch LED's to fill in the shadows and thats still not enough. To top that off my eyes arn't getting any better the older I get.
I know of a guy I might be able to get 4-5 good hids, rigid told @retroblazer 70% of the light should come off the bumper surprising me a bit?? I didn’t know that.. I also didn’t really want to run a rack of lights for a bunch of reasons but if I need it for floods I may have too.. pencils can go on the bumper

Yeahhhhhh it was fun going for my first ever ride in that screaming metal death trap WOT into the black. Some big stuff definitely popped up out of nowhere but she handled it like a champ. It was good to hear Steve say that's the first time he's ever driven her that fast

Been prepping this beeotch for the Dezert Dimes meet mid oct. been waiting all year for this!!
Got the carb blues fixed. (Swapped carb) 670 street avenger with my vent flutes and extended vent hose works surprisingly well.. no issues that I can tell in the rough.

Swapped in the rear bypasses.
Adjusted preload to level out the front and spun the stop rings down so they are 1/2 inch from ride height. Also charged bumps to 150 psi as the rear got firmer with the spring swap and different shocks so it needed a balance adjustment.
Also made my rear diff hub leaks worse by torquing the retention plates to proper torque 35lbft
Got my lights on switches and in braded sleeving and tied up.
Bolt checked everything. Also cleaned air filter.
Also hacked this exhaust together in an attempt to move the exit out of the cab and reduce the volume some and smell.
Failed on the volume (duh shoulda saw that coming) but the drone that was present is gone as the sound isn’t coupling under the body like it was so it’s nicer to drive than before.
I used scraps of tubing I had lying around so excuse the non awesome fab work. This is just to try it.
I call this the looped de loop exhaust because there is almost a 180 degree turn and a 90 to the side right after it.
Consequentialy this hasn’t changed the feel of the power at all. Sounds freaking awesome though!! It reminds me of a Trophy truck.. as silly as that might sound!! I don’t care lol!

So, wow I’ve been MIA sorry about that!! Been busy as heck!

Lucy... well Lucy has been absolutely thrashing her brains out and so have I keeping her running.
The questionable tie rod on the driver side finally bent!! I had to jump out of a whooped corner and land on that side for it to bend but it finally did! Lol.. getting that off the trailer was fun!! This is after I bent it back some so I could pull it into the garage!

New tie rod, two bends this time, sleeved mostly, it’s 1.5 4130 and 1.25 4130 inside.
I have done a bunch of tuning lately but for whatever reason non of it’s been on mine own crap..
still having fun with her, I am shocked the 9 in hasn’t blown up.. it blows axles seals like crazy but I didn’t know you needed a spacer for the bearing retainer plate.. ruff stuff should be selling those with their disc conversions.. anyway those are on their way.
The th350 has been a champ, the motor has also been problem free.. wish it was leak free but you can’t have everything I guess.

Scored some bypasses for the front. 2.5 4 tube.

She doesn’t do too bad on the road. Load of roll, that’s I beams though.

Met up with my good buddy Brian at JV during turkey weekend. Always great to see random guys you know out there unexpectedly. Makes it fun.

I found her top speed on sandy uphill pulls.. unfortunately I’m a putz and I deleted the GoPro footage of the run.. gonna call a mulligan on that one and redo this.. more angles would be better anyway.

Flogged her brains out at the Desert Dimes meet, I had a kid who’s now a marine in there with me and it was his first time out, so I made sure to give him a good fun ride.. I think he’ll be back next year.. it’s the best thing about all this is sharing it with people and watching them light up and how they can’t stop talking about how much fun they had.. makes the long nights and weekends worth it..

Looks awesome!

Do you have the originals of the last two, they look like a picture of a picture or something?
