'84 K5 Build (Midlife Crisis)

10-4. A smart person would just rebuild the 203. Easy peasy. Unless you're like me and can't do that and instead get a 205 and then remember the ratio sucks so now you want a magnum. And then you realize your probably going to have to redo your brand new 1k drive shafts.... lol
 
Autos for me. Lost a toe and a 4" part on the side of my foot.
 
No. Lot of overnight hours working, got a work boot blister infected, bout killed me. Spent 2 months in the hospital.
 
Ok. Sm 465, magnum,ford driver drop 205, ford high pinion dana 60. Pros, cons? What am i overlooking?
 
Exhaust, fuel lines and traction bars all want to occupy the passenger frame rail. And use a short oil filter.
 
No line on the axle. I saw a ford driver drop 205 on craigslist and it just got me thinking. I know the hp would help shaft angles alot, especially if i was clocked up. The more I think about it the less I want to do it. Like 454 said.

That being all said I run a 80e/GM203/Ford205 to a HP60. Driveshaft angles are nice with the clocked flat case.

The only real downfall is I'm not a huge fan of the brakes and the knuckles are known to be weaker.
 
The knuckles interchange with each other. But you will need the whole package. Knuckles, brakes, spindles, ect.
 
Good point on the regulator. I usually do megasquirt stuff for efi but im getting more lazy the older I get. I'm pretty sure i'll go with the fitech when the time comes.
Heres's a pic of the sump im talking about. Drop skid plate, cut hole and install, reinstall skidplate. Done.

Do you have a link for this? How is it working out for You? I noticed in the install pic that it looks like it has it's own little metal skidplate, does that come with it when you but it?
