'91 K5 Four Wheel Camper

This is the build for my 1991 V1500 Blazer, AKA the K5.3. It started out life being sold to the U.S. Government with a 350 TBI/700r4/241 combo. 4 years with a 5.3/700r4 Combo and now moving to an 8.1L Vortec and NV4500 5-speed.
Less than 24 hrs to departure on 2018 desert trip. Seeing as how I'll be scrambling to finish packing tonight after work, I may not have anytime to update here. So for anybody that wants to track us on our wandering follow this link to Larry's GPS spot page.

Tentative plan is hitting the Mojave road from Bullhead city Sunday morning. 2-3 days on that trail, restock in Baker or Barstow and head north to death valley.

These plans are always in flux though. We may spend all our time in Mojave taking offshoot trails and exploring there, or we skirt through DV and cut through Nevada. Who knows. It will be fun though.

Cell coverage looks to be ok on the Mojave, so I might be able to throw a pic or to up onto Instagram quicker than any other platform. If you are on ig you can follow me at my handle of robzulian or Larry's at bigassgas8.1

Around 2:00. When I am in the K5 I usually park by the other Squares in the Peerless across from Sonic.
@mrk5 gonna come too?

Have fun!
Will do!
I signed up for instagram just for this. Don’t let me down

Don't worry boys. As long as the cell coverage holds out I'll post pics as we go. Still got to pack the cooler and my bag. Just came inside to scarf down a quick bite to eat and back to packing. The truck for the most part is loaded though. Fridge is in and running on ac power right now. It's sitting at 30 degrees right now stocked full of food. Time to stop goofing around and get back to it.

Have fun at the Supercruise.

Sitting in our hotel in Kingman, AZ. Got in at 6:45 local time. No issues to report on the truck other than it is under powered. Got to keep the rubber band wound tight to keep up. But once you get over that it's running good.

Overheating issue I had last trip is gone. Highest the temp gauge got was 180. Oh and the fuel problem is gone. If it was going to happen it would have today. Fully loaded, climbed la Vera and wolf creek passes and it ran in 90 degree heat from Cortez co to flagstaff az. Not so much as a hiccup.

Early start tomorrow and we hit dirt.
